RAID INFO & STRATS

The generic strats / info below are from successful raids that I was part of, from research and / or from what I recall. The below info should be adapted, as seen fit, by your Raid Leader. Key emotes may also be noted below. Raid make-up (classes, levels, Player skill levels, etc.) can and do make a difference on raid strategy options and winning or losing. In any situation, Players fulfilling their roles, using assist, and following emotes is always essential. There is always more than one variant strategy that can successfully defeat a raid. As Levels increase, defeating old raids can prove much easier and more forgiving (even as a group or solo / molo, depending on how old the raid event is). However, sometimes, certain mechanics still have to be honored. It has been known that in some events, due raid mechanics, too much DPS; killing MoB X before MOB Y; and similar, can bug the raid and cause it to fail. The below info does not include details on how to complete raid-related achievements. Those are noted elsewhere on this page, if any. Some of these targets may require 'zerging' into the zone get to them (killing stuff along the way). They may also have 'adds' which are often more like trash MoB's that in the general area. The original / older targets / encounters were pre-raid window events. Raids were more of a collective effort, or better, an extremely challenging group event. Any effects noted below  often 'scale to level,' so the effects can be lesser or greater than stated, depending on raid force levels. On Progression servers, targets can use 'Mitigation of the Mighty' (mitigates Spell Damage, Melee Damage and absorbs DoT damage), at least until such time as certain later expansions (typically, expansions that are at least seven-plus expansions after the expansion of the related target). While older targets are static open world (non-instance) events, there are now an Agent of Change in various locations that will provide instanced version of the same event (which are noted below, if any).

If I missed anything or got something wrong, let me know!

NOTE: Some of the below respawn timers are based on other targets in the same zone and / or expansion.

LORE

Lore is from / based on Daybreak, Expansion release information and / or Dev / Beta Forum Info.

The gods have returned and the mortal realm shifts with their influence. But a new presence walking among the gods - a malevolent force that was released into godhood by the follies of mortals. Unbound by the laws of the pantheon, it leaves corruption in its wake and threatens to bring the entire pantheon crumbling down. The only hope for Norrath hangs on the very mortals who have unleashed this upheaval. They may be the only ones with a chance of stopping it.

In Freeport, Druzzil has opened a portal within the Academy of Arcane Science to her home plane. The city, already strained politically, falls into chaos and power struggles as fanatics cry that the end is near.

Rallos Zek, learning of Druzzil's actions, resolves to guide Norrathians to the Plane of Rage. His daughter, Sullon Zek, the demigod of Rage, has been overtaken by the very rage she grants to mortals. Confined to a tower within her realm, she unleashes her fury upon her realm. Can intrepid mortals bring a balance to the chaos of her realm and restore Sullon?

The nature god Tunare, having lost her Chosen, has a growing sense of foreboding. She, too, has heard of Druzzil’s efforts and now joins the fight against the threat. Her plan is bold but, as even Tunare herself admits, problematic. She intends to revive the ancient knowledge of her now-extinct first children, the Elddar elves. To do so, she calls upon Druzzil and Karana, the god of storms, for assistance. Karana sends great winds across the deserts of Ro to uncover the lost center of power of the Elddar elves, the palace of Takish-Hiz. Its walls and petrified gardens uncovered, Druzzil then manipulates time and space to provide Norrathians with passage into Takish-Hiz of Old, so they may learn from the most ancient race of elves and return that great knowledge to Norrath.

Though the gods have returned, time is short and the future of Norrath lies once again in the hands of mortals!

The Plane of Music sprang from the endless imagination of the goddess of magic, Druzzil Ro.  Its genesis occurred when Druzzil created, Ayonae Ro the Maestra, for the purpose of generating music to soothe the soul.  Druzzil sacrificed a small portion of her own realm to create a home for her daughter. Ayonae quickly developed her own powers and personality.

Ayonae was capable of shaping emotions with her music and like her mother she could shape her plane at will to match her needs and desires.  Finding inspiration in nature's beauty, she molded her realm into a vast, lush tropical island and populated it with creatures that would be muses for her music.

Inhabitants of the plane were the best of performers because it was through them that Ayonae fully expressed her melodies.  Performances were held constantly on the various stages and in concert halls on the island.

Ayonae's plane was a haven of the finest music and tranquility until recently. The sanctity of her home was shattered on the hour that Mayong Mistmoore was raised to realm of the gods.

The Dark Touch of Mayong

Now that Mayong Mistmoore has touched the Plane of Music it has become something quite different. The Theater of Blood, as it is now known, is an island isolated in a vast churning crimson sea at the center of Ayonae's plane. The sun no longer shines as it is blotted out by a russet darkness that hangs in the sky. In the sun's place is a low-hanging harvest moon in an eternal night sky that casts its pallid glow upon the landscape.

The evil touch of Mayong Mistmoore can be seen and felt everywhere on the island. Even the buildings themselves began to twist and change. The plane's whimsical cottages and towers have magically molded into a style preferred by the vampire, the same seen in Mayong's stronghold, Dreadspire Keep. Though the Keep is still buried in the deepest depths of Darkhollow, it is as if pieces of it were transported to the plane of Music. Twisted columns, high arches, stained-glass windows, gargoyles, and jagged spires now darken the former glory of Ayonae's great theater. In fact, much of the evidence of Ayonae's love for music is fouled now. Even the musical clef formed by the curve of a shoreline and a pair of islands off the coast is crawling with the great vampire's servants.

For those who dare step foot into the Theater of Blood, a statue of Mayong himself stands to warn them atop an ornate column. His signature double-bladed weapon points off into the distance toward the most imposing structure on the island, a bell tower known now as Deathknell. The purpose of Deathknell is unknown, though it is rumored that Mayong waits inside for someone worthy enough to challenge his newly found divinity.  All entrances and exits are sealed.  No one enters the tower, and no one leaves.

A whisper of haunting music is audible to those who venture too close to Deathknell. Screams and the cacophony of discordant bells periodically emanate from the pinnacle of the bell tower, shattering the surreal quiet of the island.  Oddly, when the dins of Deathknell crescendos even the boldest of Mayong's servants keep their distance.

As if drained of hope, all substance and life has been siphoned from the isle. Groves of dying trees shed weeping leaves to the earth. Spirits in a state of unrest wander the hills, wailing in pain and frustration.  Skeletal remains are strewn about the island's coves. The Theater of Blood has simply become the embodiment of despair.

Amidst the Theater

Amphitheater of Lost Muses

An open-air stage graces the southeast corner of the island bearing much in common with architecture of Dreadspire Keep.  Marble pillars, decorative fresco, and red velvet curtains adorn the stage, flanked on all sides by Mayong's leering gargoyles. Directly across from the theater are seats for an audience now gone, though some vampires make use of the decadent structure for their own evil brand of entertainment.

The Darkened Fount

The vampires inhabiting the Theater of Blood usually gather around the courtyard east of Deathknell tower. The imposing buildings bordered a festive marketplace and performance square. The centerpiece of the courtyard is a fountain of unusual design. Four elevated granite horns spew a thick, viscous liquid into the tiered basins below, the splashes producing a fine mist that hangs around the fountain like a fog. A cobbled path circles around the courtyard and connects to the outdoor stage and other points of interest on the isle.

Mad Mary-Anne

Mad Mary-Anne was previously known as Mary-Anne Madrigal.  In a melodious soprano voice she sang daily for the denizens of the Plane of Music.  Even by Ayonae's standards her voice was incredible.  Her unnaturally perfect intonations could provoke tears in even the most stoic listener.  Now that she has been twisted, she is a tormented shell of her former self.

Like many of her sisters, she was corrupted by the touch of Mayong, but the effect on her was infinitely more horrible.  Her voice has devolved into a raspy wail and her sanity is lost.  She wanders the walkway leading to Deathknell where she performed so delightfully and attempts to sing. That she can only issue screeches and squeals drives her further into madness.

Valik the Cruel

Valik the Cruel, an obsidian gargoyle, is a close follower of Mayong.  He was instrumental in the invasion of the Plane of Music.  Known not only for his cruelty, but also his unmerciful efficiency, he was personally responsible for the slaughter of hundreds of the denizens of Ayonae's plane.  Ayonae looked on in horror as her performers were dismembered, disemboweled, and destroyed by Valik.  Even Mayong's own forces are frightened of his brutal methods.  Solitary by nature, in the aftermath of Mayong's takeover he spends his time alone on the clef islands.
