TEMPEST FESTIVAL

aka Karana Tempest Festival

Celebrate the rain, and it's a good bet... an with out a doubt, you'll surely get wet! - Bonzz

The Tempest Festival was added via Patch in April of 2022, as a new annual Holiday Event, originally described as a celebration of Karana's life-giving rain and to honor the blessings that the rain brings.

These events take place annually around May of every year.

It is possible to get one or more of these Quests at the same time, but since they do not overlap there is no need.

Here Comes the Rain (2022 Task)

1) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: You are looking for Rosalind Mischeva (Level 115, on Find), who by the water pool near the Guild Lobby (/waypoint -5, 1485).

Hail her and follow along or just try saying 'Could Gather,' to get this quest.

You will get an Empty Tempest Carafe (click item to collect rain with).

.

2) MULTIPLE ZONES: You now need to visit a lot of city-type zones, to 'gather' some rain from each zone.

Due to the number of zones involved, making use of portal click items can be a great help and save time!

Druid and Wizard help, or Quested / Crafted portals aside, if you are in a guild and you have some on your keyring (or in your bags), or you or someone, has placed the various portals from the marketplace Heritage Crates, Expansion Bonus Item Portals and so forth, you may want to bind in you guild hall for now, if you can, so you can gate back there (using a spell of a Philter of Major Translocation).

One of the location updates is bound to be your home town, so the Origin Alternate Advancement can help too.

Potentially helpful teleport items are included below, if any. The zones are not listed in the same order as the task lists them, for a reason. Do them in any order you wish, but the list below is intentionally out of order to save a little effort.

To do this, you simply zone in to each zone (you do not need to be in any specific location), target yourself and click the Empty Tempest Carafe, in the following zones:

Once you have all seventeen (17) locations done, the Empty Tempest Carafe, will change into a Filled Tempest Carafe.

.

3) SUREFALL GLADE: Now head into the caves behind the waterfall, to the first 'pool' area (/waypoint 500, -285).

Target yourself and click the Filled Tempest Carafe, to finish up for some experience and coin!

Singing in the Reign (2022 Task)

1) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: You are looking for Rosalind Mischeva (Level 115, on Find), who by the water pool near the Guild Lobby (/waypoint -5, 1485).

Hail her and follow along or just try saying 'Resonance,' to get this quest.

You will get an Empty Box of Storm's Potential (click item).

.

2) PLANE OF STORMS: you are here to locate four (4) MOB's, target them, and click the Empty Box of Storm's Potential on them.

They are all in the first area of the zone as follows:

Your Empty Box of Storm's Potential should have changed into a Box of Storm's Potential.

.

3) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: Head back Rosalind Mischeva.

Give Box of Storm's Potential the Rosalind Mischeva, to finish up for some experience and coin.

You will also get an Air Elemental Familiar (see top of page).

Reign of Rain (2022 Task)

1) JAGGEDPINE FOREST: You are looking for Ralph Mischeva (Level 115), who is near the edge of the water, in the far middle-east part of the zone (/waypoint 295, -1780).

Hail him and follow along, or just try saying, 'fight the rains,' to get this task.

NOTE: Expect the MOB's related to this task to hot as hard as 50K-plus, and to have a veritable boatload of Hit Points.

.

2) JAGGEDPINE FOREST: Along the river, to the north and south of Ralph Mischeva, you will find variant rain elementals (a drained rain elemental, a weak rain elemental, a surging rain elemental) (level 90 to 94).

Kill 20 (twenty) of them.

.

3) JAGGEDPINE FOREST:  Next, a bursting rain elemental (level 94) will spawn just not far from of Ralph Mischeva (area of /waypoint 355, -1660).

Kill it! Once it's dead, a swell of Karana (Level 96) will spawn in the same place. Kill it, as well.

If you are close enough, they will auto-aggro.

.

4) JAGGEDPINE FOREST: Go back to Ralph Mischeva.

Hail Ralph Mischeva to finish up for some experience, coin and five (5) Sugary Shortbread.

Felled by Rain (2022 Task)

1) JAGGEDPINE FOREST: You are looking for Ralph Mischeva (Level 115), who is near the edge of the water, in the far middle-east part of the zone (/waypoint 295, -1780).

Hail him and follow along, or just try saying, 'this test,' to get this task.

NOTE: Expect the MOB's related to this task to hot as hard as 50K-plus, and to have a veritable boatload of Hit Points.

INTERESTING NOTE: 'Virga' ('Virgae' is the plural) is a meteorological term for streaks of rain that evaporate before they hit the ground. They look like streaks of rain hanging under clouds.

.

1) JAGGEDPINE FOREST: There are variant 'sirocco' MOB's in the zone, that vary from Level 92 to Level 97.

You need to kill a wobbling sirocco, a whirling sirocco and / or an unstable sirocco, until you have looted five (5), each, of Brittle Virgae Crystals, Burnt Virgae Crystals and Fused Virgae Crystals.

You also need five (5) Fractured Virgae Summoning Stone, that can drop from the same MOB's.

.

2) JAGGEDPINE FOREST: Now you need to combine one (1) each of Brittle Virgae Crystals, Burnt Virgae Crystals and Fused Virgae Crystals inside a Fractured Virgae Summoning Stone to make a Virgae Summoning Stone.

You need to make five (5) of them.

.

3) JAGGEDPINE FOREST: You now need to go to the edge of the river, near Ralph Mischeva.

Now, be ready for a battle! While the task wording suggest that you kill just seven (7) MOB's, you are going to actually have to deal with fourteen (14) MOB's, in five (5) waves.

Each time you click a Virgae Summoning Stone, you will spawn two MOB's. They will come in, one (1) at a time, from the west.

They will be either two of the same kind, or one of each, of a virga (Level 99) and / or a virga herra (Level 100).

They do not mezz and are highly resistant. Snare, once you land it, will stick. Once you land a Root on them, they seem to break that fast / regularly and will not stay rooted, so you have to keep rooting them. Or, if you don't want to constantly root one, kite it to the west.

You have to do this five (5) times.

Once you do the fifth (5th) click and have credit for seven (7) kills, the quest ends.

Hail Ralph Mischeva to finish up for some experience, coin and five (5) Sweet Strawberry Seltzer.

!!!CHALLENGE ALERT!!!: One of the mission challenges is to kill an ancient croc (Level 124), who has a boatload of Hit Points. If you plan to do this, you may want to do it first. He wanders back and forth underwater, just off the beach to the north, amongst the sharks (area of /waypoint 1385, -1150). You can pull him up on land, so that any sharks that aggro will not be able to follow you. WARNING: There are reports that if you kill an ancient croc after you open the chest, or if you kill an ancient croc and then drop the mission and start over, that you will not get credit for this Challenge event. So kill an ancient croc first and finish the mission!
