EVERQUEST 23RD ANNIVERSARY EVENTS

Where to find them and how to do them!

New stuff to do and see, 'cuz it's the big Two-Three! - Bonzz

ANNIVERSARY LORE

There were no Anniversary Events before the 5th Year of EverQuest.

However, upon the 5th Anniversary of EverQuest, a temporary, special Anniversary event was added to the game.

After that, it became an annual tradition in EverQuest, with new Anniversary related events being added each year, as well as the old ones being reactivated right along beside them.

Anniversary Events generally start around March 16th (EverQuest was launched March 16, 1999), and continue to as late as mid-May.

There are now so many Anniversary Events that they are implemented / divided in two parts... "Modern" events (14th Anniversary and forward) and "Legacy" events (5th to 13th Anniversary).

The "Legacy" events do not award Commemorative Coins, but do include Fabled MOB's (introduced in 2008). These events do not start until near mid-April.

The "Modern" events start right away and generally award Commemorative Coin, which is a specialty coin that can used to buy special items with "a jubilant merchant" in the Plane of Knowledge (near the Nexus stone, and the stuff ain't cheap!).

The Mechanical Fortune Teller (near the Crescent Reach stone) was added to the Plane of Knowledge, to help direct you to the events (by year), because now, there are a lot of them. Just hail her and follow along.

Download and unzip this file to the 'storyline' folder of your EverQuest directory to have access to a generic, simplified version of these quests, in game, via your Story Window (Alt N)! NOTE: This file can be updated in the event of typo corrections, errors and new events, so you may need a fresh download / install every so often.

If you enjoy the hunt and want to find it on your own, hop to it!

During this fight, there is an Achievement related Bonus if you get hit by each of his area attacks. These happen at about 75%, 50% & 25%. White auras will appear on the ground... just stand in them (you may have to move to them on purpose).

.

5) THE DEEP: TRAIL OF THE CYCLE: Next up is Sineb (Level 120).

He is on 'Find.'

Hail Sineb, he will morph into an owlbear and then attack.

At about 50% he will call for assistance and two (2) Level 120 adds will spawn... A brawny auger (that will 'lock' Sineb's health, until it's killed) and A primal soothsayer (who will heal Sineb).

Go ahead and kill the adds when they spawn, ASAP, then finish off Sineb.

Once Sineb and his adds are defeated, Sineb will respawn in his original form.

Before you speak to him, you need to open a lockbox, that spawned, nearby.

You will get one (1) loot item in a lockbox, for the group to roll on. The gear is comparable to ToL T3 (Crafted) Group Gear.

.

2) DRAGON NECROPOLIS: RISKY RAT RESCUE: You are looking for Minki (Level 110), who is nearby (/waypoint 280, -1460).

Hail Minki and follow along and then follow him into the cave.

There are a number of a skulking phase spider along the way (Level 110). They do not see invis, but you might want to kill them to provide back pedal room for the ambush (see below), if you need to.

Minki will stop and stand there. If you move just past him (/waypoint 350, -1375), you will trigger a location update and four (4) a Chetari Scavenger (Level 115) will spawn and attack. They see invisible. They can be rooted, mezzed and pacified. You need to kill all four (4) of them.

.

3) DRAGON NECROPOLIS: RISKY RAT RESCUE: Hail Minki and follow along.

BONUS CHALLENGE: Risky Rat Rescue: When You Give a Mouse Some Cheese: Feed Rinki a piece of cheese.

It is at this point that you can complete the Bonus Achievement. If you want or need to do this, hail say to him , 'Snack,' and then follow him.

He will lead to a location where Endsa (Level 120) will spawn.

Kill Endsa and a Necropolis Cheese will appear on your cursor (everyone in the group will get one, but only one Player can do the turn in, see #5 below).

Hang on to this, for later (see below).

.

4) DRAGON NECROPOLIS: RISKY RAT RESCUE: Hail Minki and follow along, if needed, then follow him to the next location.

Along the way, you will encounter two (2) more a Chetari Scavenger that you will have to kill to get past (/waypoint 830, -1085).

As you approach Minki for the next location update, five (5) MOB's (a Chetari raidera Chetari Druid...) will spawn.

You need to kill all five (5) of them.

.

5) DRAGON NECROPOLIS: RISKY RAT RESCUE: You should see Rinki (Level 124) nearby.

BONUS CHALLENGE: Do not speak to Rinki yet. Instead, any Player in the group can just hand Rinki the Necropolis Cheese to complete the Bonus Challenge (see #3, above).

Everyone in the group will get an Enda's Incisor of Striking on their cursor. This item can be converted into four (4) other variant damage augs, by using the 'Claim reward' button in the item window (you will get a reward window to select any one of he five (5) variant augs).

Whispers in the Dark (Group Mission)

1) SHAR VAHL: You are looking for Spiritist Nathra (Level 121), who is in the center area of the city by the pool (/waypoint -90, -195).

Hail Spiritist Nathra and follow along, to get this group mission (you can get this mission with just 1 Player).

Then say, "Lead," to Spiritist Nathra, to zone in to the instance.

HINT: Never fight in the tunnels, or else you might get an seemingly endless parade of roaming adds.

.

2) SHADEWEAVER'S THICKET: WHISPERS IN THE DARKSpiritist Nathra (Level 121) is nearby (/waypoint -1860, -285).

Hail Spiritist Nathra and follow along if needed, for an update.

BONUS CHALLENGE: Whispers in the Dark: Strengthened Khrix: Join Khrix with a suitable spirit anchor. Only one (1) group member per mission will be able to get the bonus loot, so decide who that is. Whoever it is, then needs to say to Spiritist Nathra, 'spirit anchor,' and they will get an Empty  Medicine Bag. They need to hang on to this.

.

3) SHADEWEAVER'S THICKET: WHISPERS IN THE DARK: Next, head into the nearby tunnel for a location update at the precipice.

Below are a number of 'Loda Kai' MOB's (Level 116 to Level 118). You need to kill eight (8) of them.

They do not see invisible, they can be pacified, mezzed and rooted.

They are all buffed with as many as three (3) different damage shields, so it is a good idea to use reverse damage shields and dispell on them.

.

4) SHADEWEAVER'S THICKET: WHISPERS IN THE DARK: Next, find a secured chest that has now spawned in the same area (/waypoint -1545, -175).

When you /open it (there is nothing in it), two (2) a Shak Dratha guardsman (Level 118) will spawn nearby (either side of the nearby rock).

Kill them.

.

5) SHADEWEAVER'S THICKET: WHISPERS IN THE DARK: Now head further into the tunnel (north), for another location update.

Then keep heading north, for another location update (go up the ramp in the next room and into the upper tunnel).

Further down that upper tunnel there is a room off to the left, where you will see a number of 'Shak Dratha' MOB's (Level 116 to level 117).

You need to kill eight (8) of them.

They do not see invisible, they can be pacified, mezzed and rooted.

They are buffed with Shaman / Cleric type buffs as well as a fire damage shield, so it is a good idea to use reverse damage shields and dispell on them.

TIP: Since the named (see next step) sees invis, has a larger aggro range, and there are roamers / MOB's galore in his room... it is a good idea to back track to the previous room after the update and clear the area near the south tunnel. Fight in the crevice on the north side of the room, against the wall, to avoid most roamers (there is one Loda Kai MOB that might path through, but nothing else).

.

6) SHADEWEAVER'S THICKET: WHISPERS IN THE DARK: Next, find a secured chest that has now spawned in the same area (/waypoint 895, -760).

There are three (3) 'Shak Dratha' MOB's around it that you need to kill (unless you killed them all ready).

BONUS CHALLENGE: Whispers in the Dark: Strengthened Khrix: Join Khrix with a suitable spirit anchor.

When you /open it, the pre-selected group member needs to loot the Khrix (see #2, above).

.

7) SHADEWEAVER'S THICKET: WHISPERS IN THE DARK: Next, head back where you came from and down the ramp, back to the room below it.

Shak Dratha Overseer (Level 123, sees through Invisible and has a large aggro range) should have spawned near the eastern tunnel (/waypoint -195, -25).

You need to kill it. Shak Dratha Overseer will summon adds (the adds seem to be timed, so the faster you can kill him, the less adds you get).

.

8) SHADEWEAVER'S THICKET: WHISPERS IN THE DARKShak Dratha Overseer should have dropped an Owl Totem

BONUS CHALLENGE: Whispers in the Dark: Strengthened Khrix: Join Khrix with a suitable spirit anchor.

Combine the Khrix with the Owl Totem inside the Empty Medicine Bag, to make a Spirit-filled Medicine Bag.

.

9) SHADEWEAVER'S THICKET: WHISPERS IN THE DARK: Head back to Spiritist Nathra.

BONUS CHALLENGE: Whispers in the Dark: Strengthened Khrix: Join Khrix with a suitable spirit anchor.

If anyone in the group is going for the bonus item, they need to hail and hand the Spirit-filled Medicine Bag to Spiritist Nathra.

They will get a Spirit of the Lost (a click item that will lead you to a ground spawn collect, if any).

If no one is going for the bonus item, then hail and hand the Khrix to Spiritist Nathra, to finish up.

Once done, a reward chest will appear nearby... /open it to finish up and get one (1) loot for the group to roll on. The loot is what would be equivalent to T4 ToL gear.

You will also get fifteen (15) Commemorative Coin.

Mad Emperor (Raid)

1) THE DREADLANDS: You are looking for a frightened guardian, who is near Karnor's Castle (/waypoint 765, -1810).

This is a raid that requires at least six (6) Players (maximum 72).

While you can go in with just six (6) Players, this does not include Mercs (no Mercs allowed).

NOTE: This raid is simply a revamp, albeit in a different zone, of the 'Drusella's Vault' raid event in Sathir's Tomb. So, if you are familiar with that raid, you have an idea on this raid.

Hail a frightened guardian and follow along, or just try saying, "want" to get this raid. Then, say 'Ready' to zone in.

.

2) KARNOR'S CASTLE: MAD EMPEROR: When you zone in, you will be in a small room with a frightened guardian. You can say 'leave' to him, if you want to zone out.

Trash MOB's here (Level 125) are inactive, until you activate the event.

To activate the event, go across and into to the next room on the other side.

There you will find a Kar`Zok maniac (Level 125). Hail him and follow along, or just try saying 'revenge,' to activate the event.

He will then walk off back to the center room, perform a ritual, transform into Venril Sathir (Level 125), and attack you.

.
