--------------------------------------------------------------------

This quest is for an illusion mask that will make you look like a Frost Bone Skeleton.

It is obtained via a series of five seasonal (Halloween) tasks/missions.

It was originally added with the 2005 Halloween events, the original Nights of the Dead events. The Nights of the Dead have also been called 'Harvester's Haunt.'

NOTE: There are several versions of this mask that are level related. The task outlined below is for the high end mask (Required Level 60). If you do the tasks at lower levels, you will get a lesser but similar mask of a slightly different name and with lesser stats.

The lower level masks are called the Dusty Bone Mask of Horror (Recommended Level 10), Cracked Bone Mask of Horror (Required Level 10), Hardened Bone Mask of Horror (Required Level 20), Strengthened Bone Mask of Horror (Required Level 30), Calcified Bone Mask of Horror (Required Level 40), and the Solid Bone Mask of Horror (Required Level 50). You can only acquire one of these masks.

UNVERIFIED: If you quest and obtain one of the lower level masks, you can reportedly upgrade it with Zigan Ribshard in the Plane of Knowledge. Just illusion yourself (any illusion will do), then destroy your current mask, and hail Zigan Ribshard, who will then give you the highest version of the mask that you qualify for (based on your current level).

NOTE: You can (and will) get variations on some of these tasks (what zone you are sent to, the Level of the MOB’s you encounter and similar) based on your current character level(s).

NOTE: Some of the NPC's despawn and respawn. If they aren't up, just hang out for a few minutes.

NOTE: Other than the Monster Mission (“Out with the Old”), these tasks can be done in any order.

TRICK OR TREAT FOR THE OLD MAN

1) KITHICOR FOREST: You are looking for Old Man Draykey (Level 70), in the northwest corner area of the zone.

NOTE: Be sure you have a bag slot open!

Hail him and follow along, or just try saying, "What instructions" to get the task called, "Trick or Treat for the Old Man."

He will give you a Trick-or-Treat Bag (Lore, No Trade, 10-slot giant, 0% Weight Reduction) and a book called Draykey's Codex (Lore, Weight 0.5).

You can dump the book as it is just clues as to the items you need.

.

2) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: Head to the top of the Library to find Grand Librarian Maelin (Level 75).

He will either give you a treat, or play a trick.

The treat you are after here is a Rock Candy (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.0).

.

4) BEFALLEN: You are looking for Wraps McGee (Level 28).

He is down in the lower section, near the locked door to the final area. You will need the in-zone keys to get to him.

If not, take an illusion caster or a potion with you (wolf or gnome seems to work), head to this same locked door from the other side (drop into the well) and then use the illusion.

Position yourself so you can see through the door and then use the F8 key to target.

Or, you can try to shroud into a rogue and pick the lock.

Say to him, "Trick or Treat."

He will either give you a treat, or play a trick.

The treat you are after here is a Tasty Candy (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.0).

.

5) ESTATE OF UNREST: You are looking for Crabby the Rotten (Level 50), who randomly spawns in either of the hedge mazes (you have to find him).

Say to him, "Trick or Treat."

He will either give you a treat, or play a trick.

The treat you are after here is a Candy Jack-O-Lantern (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.0).

.

6) CASTLE MISTMOORE: You are looking for Nate (Level 25), who is found in the graveyard.

.

7) FIELD OF BONE: You are looking for Immug Lashtail (Level 50), who is wanders about in the pit (aka "arena") area.

.

9) WESTERN PLAINS OF KARANA: You are looking for Scary Miller (Level 50), who  wonders about the area known as the "Miller Farm."

12) Now combine all ten (10) of the treats inside the Trick-or-Treat Bag to make a Full Trick-or-Treat Bag (Lore, No Trade, Weight 10.0).

.

13) KITHICOR FOREST: Go back to Old Man Draykey (Level 70).

Give him the Full Trick-or-Treat Bag to finish this task.

He will give you a stack of five (5) stat food items.

These items can vary by your level, the best of which is the Caramel-Coated Candy Apples (No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.0; 10 STR, 5 DEX, 5 STA, 10 WIS, 10 INT, 5; MAGIC, 35 HP, 35 MANA, 35 END).

THE HUNGRY HALFLING

14) KITHICOR FOREST: You are looking for Mippie Diggs (Level 70), who is near the Rivervale zone in.

Hail her and follow along to get the task called "The Hungry Halfling."

She will give you a book called Mippie's Home Remedies (Lore, Weight 0.5).

This book is merely a book of the recipes that you need to know, so you can dump it, if you want to.

.

15) You now need to make (or obtain) some food items made via the recipes in the book.

The easiest to make (or buy from other players) is the Pumpkin Bread (Weight 1.5), because you only have to find (or buy from other players) five (5) of the dropped ingredients.

The dropped ingredient is Pumpkin Flesh (Weight 0.1), which can drop off of "scarecrow" type MOB's in the Estate of Unrest.

I mention only the Pumpkin Bread, as the other recipes will require at least ten (10) drops, where this only requires five (5).

Hopefully, your baking skill is at least 102 (if you plan to make them yourself). If not, find a friend to make these for you.

The ingredients are one (1) Pumpkin Flesh, a Yeast (Weight 0.2, vendor sold), a Bread Tin (Weight 0.1, this is player crafted), four (4) Cup of Flour (Weight 0.1, vendor sold) and two (2) Egg Batter (Weight 0.8, this is player crafted, using most any egg type and a Bottle of Milk in a Mixing Bowl).

.

16) KITHICOR FOREST: Go back to Mippie Diggs (Level 70).

Give her the five (5) Pumpkin Bread you made/acquired (or whatever other optional items you made/acquired, instead), to finish this task.

You will get a 5 Dose Essence of Troll (Weight 0.4)… or some other random 5-dose illusion potion.

Don't use it up, you will need it later!

If you do use it up, don’t panic (see Step 31), there are alternatives!

MISSING COUSTUME PIECES

17) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: You are looking for Shroudkeeper Hyush, Shroudkeeper Nisua or Shroudkeeper Learu (all Level 70).

One of them is up on the hill near the main bank.

Hail and shroud yourself up into anything you want to, just make sure it is Level 20.

You are doing this to make this task a ton easier and avoid a venture into the Plane of Hate.

There are several variant versions of this tasks, based on level, that take you to different zones for Step 20: Level 30 (Castle Mistmoore); Level 40 (Tenebrous Mountains); Level 53 (Katta Castellum); Level 58 (Maiden's Eye); and Level 66 (Plane of Hate).

.

18) KITHICOR FOREST: You are looking for A Dressed-Up Halfling (Level 75), who is in the area of n1097, n578 (not too far from the Commonlands zone line).

Hail him and follow along (key phrase, “Willing to Search”) to get the task called “Missing Costume Pieces.”

This is a group mission, but you can get it solo. Don’t forget to task-add people!

.

19) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: Go back Shroudkeeper Hyush, Shroudkeeper Nisua or Shroudkeeper Learu (all Level 70).

Say "remove," to remove the shroud, as you don't need it anymore.

.

20) CASTLE MISTMOORE: You are looking for Bloody Vampire (Level 30-ish?).

It spawns in the graveyard at or in the crypt there.

You need to kill it and loot the Bloody Vampire Cloak (Lore, No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.1) and the Bloody Vampire Fangs (Lore, No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.0).

.

21) KITHICOR FOREST: Go back to A Dressed-up Halfling.

Give him the Bloody Vampire Cape and Bloody Vampire Fangs.

He will give you a Bristlebane's Ticket of Admission (No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.0).

Keep it!

NOTE: You will get this same reward only after the third mission you do, should you do them out of order.

THE BONE COLLECTOR

22) KITHICOR FOREST: You are looking for Barsin, the Bone Collector (Level 50), who is by the lake.

Hail him and follow along to get the task, called "Bone Collector."

You will need a group (this is a group task).

NOTE: You can also use the shroud trick here (see Step 17) and get the task changed to Kurn's Tower, the Estate of Unrest and then Befallen, instead of as shown below.

NOTE: Only one (1) person in the group needs to collect the below listed drops. Therefore, you can send group members off in separate directions to get the items faster.

.

23) WALL OF SLAUGHTER: You are here after a Splintered Discordling Bone (Weight 0.3).

It drops off random "discordling" type MOB's (and maybe others) (Level 68 to 70).

The drop rate for the Splintered Discordling Bone seems to be to the point of ridiculously rare, so it may be a good idea to shroud and pursue one of the lower level versions of the task (see #22, above).

.

24) PLANE OF NIGHTMARE: You are here after four (4) Bone Chips (Weight 0.1), looted from A Vexed Banshee (Level 55).

.

25) DRAGON NECROPOLIS: You are here after a ground spawn.

You can find Dragon Skull Fragments (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 5.0), as a ground spawn, in the "chetari" caves, in the area of p125, n1835.

.

26) KITHICOR FOREST: Head back to Barsin.

Give him the six (6) items you just collected.

.

27) A Bone Construct (Level 71), will spawn nearby.

You need to kill it.

It is undead (hit for 1K, will feign death you, it is hasted and it cannot be rooted/snared) to finish the task.

You should get the Construct's Blackened Bone Earring (Magic, Lore, Attunable; All/All; 115 HP, 115 Mana, 115 END; 10 AC, 10 STR, 5 DEX, 10 INT, 5 AGI; 15 FIRE, 15 COLD, 15 MAGIC, Type 7 Slot; Required Level 65) (Magic, Lore, Attunable; Weight 0.6; Type 7 Slot; Required Level 65; 115 HP, 115 MANA, 115 END; 10 AC, 10 STR, 5 DEX, 10 WIS, 10 INT, 5 AGI; 15 FIRE, 15 COLD, 15 MAGIC).

WRAP UP

28) KITHICOR FOREST: You are looking for Cathil (Level 25-ish) and A Silly Puppet (aka Wenan) (Level 25), who are in the area of p1228, p1068, near a house not far off the trail.

You will need a group of at least three (3) people (six is better).

Hail Cathil and follow along (key phrase, “Tale”).

Then hail A Silly Puppet and say, "Tale?"

Then give A Silly Puppet the Bristlebane's Ticket of Admission, from Step 21.

.

29) You will now be assigned a Monster Mission called "Out with the Old."

Each group member will be offered a deity to play.

The deity possibilities are Terris Thule (an Enchanter), Cazic-Thule (a Shadowknight), Rallos Zek (a Warrior), Bertoxxulous (a Necromancer), Tunare (a Druid) and Erollisi Marr (a Cleric).

When everyone is ready, say "Story" to A Silly Puppet and follow along (key phrase, I believe, is “Imagine”). You will be transported into an instanced version of Kithicor Forest.

.

30) KITHICOR FOREST: OUT WITH THE OLD: Run over to the entrance to Rivervale, but don't zone!

The job here is to protect Rivervale and beat three (3) waves... or better, three trains... of MOB's.

Each Wave will have higher con MOB than the previous ones, of about 15 MOB's each.

The last wave has the named MOB, The Legion Commander of the Void.

Kill it first.

The named drops a loot item, in the form of an Artifact, which will transform into a loot item for the player who loots it, once they zone out.

Drop task to zone out, or just wait.

TOP

.

31) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: You are looking for Zigan Ribshard (Level 50).

He is a goblin on the evil side of PoK, standing by a pole near the Cabilis stone.

You need to be in "costume."

So, use the 5 Dose Essence of Troll (or whatever other possible potion you got from Step 16).

NOTE: If you used up this item, don’t panic! ANY type of illusion at all (from any source, be it player cast, a potion, a clickie…) will work for this step, to include the free ones from Spooky Sally in the Plane of Knowledge!

Hail him to receive your reward, the Bone Mask of Horror (or some lesser version, depending on your actual level)!

If you destroy your mask, you can get it back by repeating this step.

As a note, you are given one (1) of the (7) masks that match your current level (see top of page). Because this final step is not an actual quest and is achievement / flag related, it is not possible to acquire more than one version of the mask, even though they are not lore group items.

THEORY (Unverified): If you originally got a lower version of this mask, destroying it and doing this final step again could possibly result in acquiring a higher level / version of the mask, based on your current level.
