--------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a Secrets of Faydwer tradeskill quest for high end players/tradeskillers, that results in a nice item! It can be worn as a belt, a ring, an earring, a neck item or even as a wrist item!

As usual, this outline does not go step by step in a generic un-informative manner. Follow the outline and the steps will be accomplished, plus you will not have to do a ton of research to figure out just what each step actually requires!

NOTE: You need to be at least Level 75 and have a skill of 250 in the appropriate tradeskill(s), in order to get each task.

NOTE: You can fail in the combines, so be sure to obtain extra combine items, as you may need them!

NOTE: There are caster versions of the reward items as well. The casters item must be converted to the melee form for the task steps, below. However, each item can be converted to the caster version (and back to the melee version) by simply combining it (by itself) inside any Jewelry kit!

NOTE: When I did this task series, it was possible to speak key phrases to Eron and get any of the tasks, even if out of order (in fact, saying the skill to him often worked, i.e.: "Smithing"). However, the tasks must be completed in order (the final item from one task is used in the next task). This did serve to my advantage, because I was able to get a lot of the steps accomplished ahead of time… and did not have to go back to zones/areas repeatedly. So, if they have not nerfed this, and you have the task space, you may want to get them all at once.

THE QUESTS

#1 NOT SO SIMPLE JEWELRY

1) DRAGONSCALE HILLS: You are looking for Eron Nurwistle (Level 80).

He is located in the top of the windmill, belwo the farm along the left wall.

Hail him and follow along, or just try saying, "Interested,' to get this first task called, "Not So Simple Jewelry."

This first task involves Jewelry Making.

.

2) Now head to the minotaur mines in the southwest of the zone (not to be confused with the minotaur fortress in the middle-west area).

Kill various Minotaurs (Level 70 to 74) here until you loot 12 (twelve) Dragonscale Ore Fragments (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.4). I strongly recommend you pull MOB's from the tunnel rather than go in, as pathing is absolutely terrible in the tunnels.

NOTE: While the task only requires you loot twelve (12) to complete the step, you may want to loot at least six (6) extra (they are used three at a time), in case you fail a combine or two.

.

3) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: You are here just to by four (4)  Gnomish Heat Source (Weight 0.1).

You may want to buy a few extra in case of combine failures. They are sold by Eric Rasumus (Level 60).

.

4) Now make four (4) Purified Dragonscale Ore (No Trade, Weight 0.6).

It is made with a Gnomish Heat Source and three (3) Dragonscale Ore Fragment, inside most any Jewelry Bag (Trivial 100).

.

5) DRAGONSCALE HILLS: Head back to Eron.

Give him all four (4) pieces of the Purified Dragonscale Ore, so he can inspect them.

.

6) Make sure you got have an upper (1st) bag slot open.

NOTE: It has been reported that the empty bag slot should be an "upper" bag slot (make it your first one), or issues can entail (he will not respond or give you the items noted below).

After 60-seconds (yes, you must wait that long before the next step will activate), hail Eron.

Eron will give you a  Jeweler's Kit (4-slot Large, 0% Weight Reduction, Weight 0.4),  Eron's Simple Jewelry Notes (No Trade, Weight 0.2), Purified Dragonscale Ore (four of them) and an Eron's Configurable Chain and Setting Mold (No Trade, Weight 0.2).

.

7) Scribe the Eron's Simple Jewelry Notes.

You must do this or you will be unable to attempt the combines required.

.

8) Make two (2) Eron's Configurable Chain (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.9).

The recipe is two (2) Purified Dragonscale Ore and the Eron's Configurable Chain and Setting Mold in any Jewelry Bag (trivial 400).

You will also get back a Half Bar of Purified Dragonscale Ore (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.3).

.

9) Now you need to make two (2) Eron's Setting (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.3).

Combine a Half Bar of Purified Dragonscale Ore, Eron's Configurable Chain and Setting Mold in any Jewelry Bag (Trivial 250).

.

10) Be standing at Eron for this step.

Next you need to make two (2)  Eron's Simple Jewelry (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.1; Ear, Neck, Wrist, Finger, Waist; Type 7 Slot; WAR, PAL, RNG, SHD, MNK, BRD, ROG, BST, BER; All Races; Recommended Level 70; AC 1; STR 1, DEX 1, STA 1, CHA 1, WIS 1, INT 1, AGI 1; HP 15, MANA 15, END 15; FIRE 1, DIS 1, COLD 1, MAGIC 1, POISON 1).

You also have to give them to Eron. In that the item is Lore, you have to give one (1) to Eron before you can make the second one.

Combine Eron's Configurable Chain, Eron's Setting, Eron's Configurable Chain and Setting Mold in any Jewelry Bag (Trivial 100).

After you give him the second one, you will finish the first task and get the Eron's Simple Jewelry (hold on to this, you will need it).

#2 CLAY WITHIN THE BEAST

1) DRAGONSCALE HILLS: After completing the first task, hail Eron Nurwistle and follow along, or just try saying, "Crystals" to get the second task called, "Clay Within the Beast."

This task centers on your Pottery skill.

He will give you Eron's Ceramic Settings Notes (No Trade, Weight 0.2).

.

2) Scribe the Eron's Ceramic Settings Notes.

You have to do this or you will not be able to do the combines later.

.

3) You are now looking for Overvolt Rigster IV (Level 80).

He is in a tent near the cannon.

You may need a good group before you start the next step. MOB's are Level 77-plus, hit 2K-ish-plus and you may sometimes end up with two or more MOB's at the same time (plus they respawn in about 10 minutes, it seems... so you have to keep moving).

Once you are ready, speak to Overvolt and follow along, or just try saying "Head Into" to get a group mission (called "Adventure in the Mechamatic Guardian") that allows access inside the giant robot, The Mechamatic Guardian.

NOTE: He is also a merchant and he sells the book Fishing of Secrets (Weight 5.0) and the scroll Sherrible Secrets (Weight 5.0). This book and scroll reveal the recipes for the third task, below, if you want to read them (they are not needed).

NOTE: He also gives other solo tasks that take place in this zone. If you have room, it would be a good idea to grab those tasks as well, as they are related to a task series outlined elsewhere on this web site).

NOTE: He also gives group missions, related to yet another task series, related to the Were-Orc Bone Circum. This task series will actually start you at different levels inside the Guardian, making it easier to get to certain areas for drops for this task series.

.

4) THE MECHAMATIC GUARDIAN: The giant robot is actually a walking zone.

With this group mission, you can actually run up to him and click his foot (rather than being kicked for up to 10K). It will give you a window asking if you want to enter or be kicked. Choose enter, of course (duh!).

Once inside you simply pull and kill your way into the zone. The zone is one-way except for some short dead-end side paths.

You need to loot two Blue Gem Grade Faycite (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1) (random trash drop) and fourteen (14) Twitching Soot (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1).

The Twitching Soot is the hard part. They only drop from the dervish type MOB's in one area, which is a good ways inside.

NOTE: I do recommend that you loot as many as 28 Twitching Soot; in case you have combine failures (seven are used per combine).

.

5) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: Head to the pottery wheel and kiln.

You need to make two (2) Soot Bound Ceramic Clay (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1).

Combine a Water Flask (Weight 0.1) and seven (7) Twitching Soot in a Pottery Wheel (Trivial 100).

.

6) Now make two (2) Unfired Eron's Ceramic Setting (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1).

Combine a Water Flask and a Soot Bound Ceramic Clay in a Pottery Wheel (Trivial 400).

.

7) Now you need to make two (2) Eron's Ceramic Setting (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1).

Combine an Unfired Eron's Ceramic Setting and a High Quality Firing Sheet (Weight 0.1) (sold by Elisha Dirtyshoes, nearby) in a Kiln (Trivial 50).

.

8) DRAGONSCALE HILLS: Head back to Eron.

Give him one of the Blue Gem Grade Faycite. He will give you a Clear Gem Grade Faycite (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1).

.

9) Now give both Eron's Ceramic Setting to Eron.

.

10) After 60-seconds (yes, you have to wait this long before the next step will activate), hail him.

He will give you one of the Eron's Ceramic Setting back.

.

11) Lastly,  you need to make Eron's Simple Second Setting Jewelry (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.1; Ear, Neck, Wrist, Finger, Waist; Type 7 Slot; WAR, PAL, RNG, SHD, MNK, BRD, ROG, BST, BER; All Races; Recommended Level 70; AC 2; STR 2, DEX 2, STA 2, CHA 1, WIS 1, INT 1, AGI 2; HP 30, MANA 29, END 29; FIRE 2, DIS 2, COLD 2, MAGIC 2, POISON 2).

Combine Eron's Ceramic Setting (melee version from the 1st task), a Blue Gem Grade Faycite, the Clear Gem Grade Faycite and Eron's Simple Jewelry (from the 1st task) in most any Jewelry Bag (Trivial 250).

Now give Eron the Eron's Simple Second Setting Jewelry to complete this task (he will give it back to you... keep it, you will need it).

#3 FOOD FOR THE INJURED

1) DRAGONSCALE HILLS: After completing the second task, hail Eron Nurwistle and follow along, or just try saying, "Skills" to get the third task called, "Food for the Injured."

This task centers on your Baking skill, tied in with Fishing.

He will give you Eron's Froglegs and Reconfiguration (No Trade, Weight 0.2).

.

2) Scribe the Eron's Froglegs and Reconfiguration, or you will not be able to do a combine later.

.

3) You will need some sort of a fishing pole and some sort of bait for the next few steps, so get a good supply of both.

It will also be a good idea to be able to invis and levi yourself (potions).

First up, just outside the windmill, where Eron is, there is a small pond. Go to the opposite side from the path (to avoid the roaming MOB) and fish away until you catch thirteen (13) Dragonscale Bullhead (Weight 0.7) and thirteen (13) Prawn (Weight 0.6).

NOTE: While the task requires you catch only catch twelve (12) of each fish, you definitely need to catch at least one (1) extra to make the food item... because Eron wants twelve (12) fish for himself. In fact, you may want to catch a few more, to cover possible combine failures.

.

4) LOPING PLAINS: Head to the south part of the zone near the spell merchant (near the beach).

Fish here until you catch thirteen (13) Farwander Gar (Weight 5.8) and thirteen (13) Wayunder Perch (Weight 0.4).

NOTE: While the task requires you catch only catch twelve (12) of each fish, you definitely need to catch at least one (1) extra to make the food item... because Eron wants twelve (12) fish for himself. In fact, you may want to catch a few more, to cover possible combine failures.

.

5) While you are here, across the water from the spell merchant, you can find a small pond. Pull and kill A Small Pondhopper (Level 73 to 75) until you loot a Twitching Giant Frog Leg (Weight 0.1). You may want to get at least two (2) of them.

.

6) While you are here, utilize your foraging skill!

You need at least two (2) Ranthock Wheat (Weight 0.4).

If you fail to forage them up, you will need to obtain them at some point, even if from another player (foraging them is not a task step).

NOTE: Two (2) of these are used in each combine, so you may want to get at least four (4), in case of a combine failures.

.

7) HILLS OF SHADE: Head left from the zone-in to the water.

Fish here until you catch thirteen (13) Shaded Bonefish (Weight 2.2) and thirteen (13) Shadow Trout (Weight 3.6).

NOTE: While the task requires you catch only catch twelve (12) of each fish, you definitely need to catch at least one extra to make the food item... because Eron wants twelve (12) fish for himself. In fact, you may want to catch a few more, to cover possible combine failures.

.

8) While you are here, utilize your foraging skills!

You need at least one (1) Agaricus Mushroom (Weight 0.4).

If you fail to forage one up, you will need to obtain it at some point, even if from another player (foraging them is not a task step).

NOTE: One (1) of these are used in each combine, so you may want to get at least two (2), in case of a combine failure.

.

9) WEST KARANA: Head to the river (south side of zone).

You are here to fish up at least two (2) Thunder Salmon (Weight 0.1).

NOTE: You may want to fish up at least four (4), in case of combine failures.

NOTE: This is not a task step, so you can obtain these (or the item you will make from them) from other players, rather than fish them up and/or make the item yourself.

.

10) SHOPPING OR FORAGING: You need to obtain a few more items needed for combines.

You can get them (or the item they are used to make) from other players, or you can go and try to obtain the ingredients and make the items yourself.

You will need at least two (2) Jungle Pineapple (Weight 0.6). It can be foraged in most any Dragons of Norrath zone.

You will also need at least two (2) Dragon Egg (Weight 0.6). It can be foraged in Western Wastes.

You will also need to obtain an Uncut Combine Star (Weight 0.1). This is a random drop in most zones.

NOTE: You may want to obtain at least double the number of items noted above, in case of combine failures.

.

11) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: You are looking for Serin O'Danos (Level 60), the alchemy merchant (use find).

You need to buy at least one (1) Bongo's Hot Chili Spice (Weight 0.4) (buy extra in case of combine failures).

While you are here, buy a Tackle Box (6-Slot Medium, 0% Weight Reduction, Weight 1.0) as well. They are sold by Ramos Jerwan (Level 60), right outside and below the room where Serin is.

.

12) ABYSMAL SEA: You are here to make several combines (due to the ease of access to equipment, the bank and the various merchants).

You will need to make (or otherwise obtain) a number of tools, as well as crafting a number of ingredient/food items.

NOTE: Be sure to have two (2) bag slots open, have a lot of bag space open and then follow the below list, in order, so as to limit a lot of running about (only the crafted items are noted... store bought items are available from the various merchants in the zone):

·         Mixing Bowl (4-Slot Large, 0% Weight Reduction, Weight 0.4) (you need only one, it is a combine container);

#4 SCRAP OIL

1) DRAGONSCALE HILLS: After completing the third task, hail Eron Nurwistle and follow along to get the fourth task called, "Scrap Oil," or just try saying, "I am a smith."

This task centers on your Smithing skill.

He will give you Eron's Reconfiguring Steel (No Trade, Weight 0.2) (scribe this).

.

2) FORTRESS MECHANOTUS: You are here to loot some needed items, as follows:

·         Ten (10) Magnetized Scrap Metal (Magic, No Trade. Weight 0.4) (drops from steamwork type MOB's in the area all the way up the elevators, to the left and then down one level).

#5 COUNTING SHADOWS

1) DRAGONSCALE HILLS: After completing the fourth task, hail Eron Nurwistle and follow along, or just try saying, "I am ready," to get the fifth task called, "Counting Shadows."

This task centers on your Fletching skill.

He will give you a book called Damaged Book of Shadow Counting (No Trade, Weight 2.2).

.

2) While you are here, you may as well kill the "Brownie" MOBs (Level 74 to 79) in the far southwest section of the zone.

You need to obtain a Gem Covered Box (Lore, No Trade, Magic, Weight 20.0).

It is a random drop there (not very common). It has a much better chance of dropping from the "named" than the "trash."

NOTE: You will need three (3) of these boxes. They drop in different zones (they also drop in Hills of Shade off the borrower birds and Loping Plains off orcs) and identify differently.

NOTE: After looting a Gem Covered Box, if you go to Hills of Shade and make it into a Shadow Box (outlined below), you can then acquire the same Gem Covered Box again, if that is easier for you. You simply have to make the Shadow Box each time, before you can loot another of the same Gem Covered Box.

.

3) HILLS OF SHADE: You need to loot three items here.

They drop off of MOB's in the "crypts" (left from zone in... the undead tunnels).

Simply pull and kill MOB's out of the tunnel until you loot the following (the skeleton, blob and undead MOB's can each drop a specific page):

·         Shadow Counting Page 2 (No Trade, Weight 0.1);

·         Shadow Counting Page 3 (No Trade, Weight 0.1);

·         Shadow Counting Page 5 (No Trade, Weight 0.1).

.

4) While you are here and while you have the help, clear out the first room of the catacombs.

There are some hidden non-KoS MOB's you can't see in those tunnels, called A Slithering Shade (Level 81 to 83). Even if you can see invisible, you can't see these MOB's unless your class has the new ability/spell that allows you to see them (Rangers & Druids can see them).

No worries, however, as there is a way to get a target and kill them anyway. After clearing to the first room, simply have someone go in and use an AoE spell... but be ready for some add control.

You need to loot at least two (2) Swirling Shadow Essence (No Trade, Weight 0.0) from them. They always drop them.

I would loot at least four (4) to six (6) of them; just in case of failures in later combines.

.

5) Now head over to the borrower type MOB's on the west side (mid-west section), until you get another Gem Covered Box.

It is a random but not-to-common drop. It has a much better chance of dropping from the "named" than the "trash."

.

6) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: You need to find Sansus Rasumus (Level 60).

NOTE: Make sure you have a bag slot open!

Buy a Book Binding (10-Slot Large, 0% Weight Reduction, Weight 8.0).

.

7) Now combine the Shadow Counting Page 2, Shadow Counting Page 3,  Shadow Counting Page 5 and the Damaged Book of Shadow Counting to make Shadow Counting (No Trade, Weight 3.0).

This is a no-fail combine.

.

8) LOPING PLAINS: Head over to the Orc camp, at the far end of the ramp (near the horses).

You need to kill various Orcs (Level 77 to 80) until you get another Gem Covered Box.

It is a random but not-to-common drop. It has a much better chance of dropping from the "named" than the "trash."

.

9) SHOPPING OR CRAFTING: You now need to obtain three (3) items (you only need one of each).

You can either find the ingredients and make these items yourself, or obtain/buy them from another player.

You need the following:

·         Celestial Essence (Weight 0.1);

·         Vodka (Weight 0.4);

·         Juice of Quellious (25 HP, 25 Mana, 25 END; 5 STR, 5 STA, 5 INT, 5 WIS, 5 AGI, 5 DEX, 5 CHA; Weight 0.4) (I suggest buying this one, as it is involved to make and some of the ingredients are hard to acquire).

You also need a Fletching Kit to take with you for the next step (sold by Fletcher Lenvale in the Plane of Knowledge).

.

10) HILLS OF SHADE: Here is where it gets tricky!!!

Head to the island out in the water on the north side of the zone (you can get there with Invis and/or IVU if you are careful).

You will see an "altar" here.

This is the step where you follow the instructions in the book. These instructions are a bit contrived and misleading.

Don't worry, however, follow the below steps below... exactly as outlined... in the exact order noted... and you shouldn't have any problems.

Things to know:

Now, follow these steps below in the order listed and at the times noted, and you should not have any issues.

.

11) Scribe the Making Shadowspike Arrows, or you will not be able to do the next combine(s)!

.

12) Now you need to make at least two (2) Shadowspike Arrow Tip (No Trade, Weight 0.1). You may want to make a few extra, in case of failures.

They are made with a Celestial Essence, a Small Piece of High Quality Steel (Weight 3.5) and the Shadowspike Arrow Tip Mold in a forge (Blacksmithing Trivial 100).

The Small Piece of High Quality Steel is made (Blacksmithing Trivial 26, makes two) with a Smithing Chisel (Damage 2, Damage Bonus 18, Delay 30, Weight 0.7) (sold by many Smithing merchants) and a Small Brick of High Quality Steel (Weight 7.0).

The Small Brick of High Quality Steel is made with a High Quality Carbon Powder (Weight 0.1), three (3) Gnomish Heat Source (Weight 0.1) and a Small Brick of Refined High Quality Ore (Weight 7.0) (Blacksmithing Trivial 41).

The High Quality Carbon Powder and the Small Brick of Refined High Quality Ore are sold by Yeril Imsin (Level 60) in the Plane of Knowledge, if they are in stock. If they are not in stock, you may need to do the "restock" quest, or go in search of the other few merchants who sell them as well (in other zones).

.

13) Now you need to make two (2) Shadowspike Arrow (No Trade, Damage 50, Range 125, Weight 0.1) (Fletching Trivial 400).

It is made with a Vial of Viscous Mana (Weight 0.1), a Bundled Ceramic Arrow Shafts (Weight 0.1) (sold by most any Fletching merchant), a Set of Ceramic Arrow Vanes (Weight 0.1) (sold by most any Fletching merchant), a Small Groove Nocks (Weight 0.1) (sold by most any Fletching merchant), a Swirling Shadow Essence (previously acquired, above) and the Shadowspike Arrow Tip (Step 12).

You will have to acquire the Vial of Viscous Mana from another player (cast up by an Enchanter or crafted by a Researcher).

.

14) FARMING: You need to acquire an Uncut Demantoid (Weight 0.1).

It drops in many zones or can be acquired from another player.

.

15) DRAGONSCALE HILLS: Grab your Jewelry bag and head back to Eron.

Give him one of the Shadowspike Arrow,

He will give you Eron's Reconfiguring Steel (No Trade, Weight 0.2).

.

16) Scribe Eron's Reconfiguring Steel, or you will not be able to do the next combine.

.

17) Now give Eron the Shadow Counting book.

He will give you Eron's Steel Reconfiguration Pattern (Weight 0.1).

.

18) Now you need to make the Eron's Reconfigured Jewelry (Magic, Lore, No Trade; 15 AC, 13 STR, 13 DEX, 13 STA, 5 CHA, 5 WIS, 5 INT, 13 AGI; 235 HP, 225 MANA, 225 END; 9 FIRE, 9 DIS, 9 COLD, 9 MAGIC, 9 POISON; Avoidance 3, Regen 1, Attack 5; Click Effect: Form of Defense I (27 AC and "Screech"); Effect Improved Dodge I (+10% to Dodge); Type 7 Slot; Required Level 75) (Jewelry Trivial 250).

It is made with the Black Gem Grade Faycite, Eron's Tertiary Setting Jewelry (from the previous task, melee version), Eron's Steel Reconfiguration Pattern and an Uncut Demantoid in most any Jewelry bag

.

19) Now give the Eron's Reconfigured Jewelry to Eron to finish this task and claim your reward (the Eron's Reconfigured Jewelry)!

#6 BLOOD FOR THE CURE

1) DRAGONSCALE HILLS: After completing the fifth task, hail Eron Nurwistle and follow along to get the sixth task called, "Blood for the Cure."

This task centers on your Brewing skill.

Follow along with Eron, or just try saying "Nostrum," to get this task.

.

2) BLOODMOON KEEP: This is the hard part.

You may need a very good group or a mini-raid!

You need to fight your way to the "spider" area. This area is through the "jail" area (2nd door on right from zone in). Down the hall in the jail area, there is a secret door in the right hand cell (click the back wall) (the cell is just before the steps you will see down the main hall). Through that door is a "safe' tunnel area (no MOB's). At the other end of the tunnel is another room with quite a few MOB's in it. Past that room (straight across) is the spider area.

Once in the spider area, you need to kill enough spiders to loot at least five (5) Bloodfang Spider Egg (No Trade, Weight 0.1). I strongly suggest you loot at least ten (10) in case of combine failure.

.

3) COMBINE: Now head to a brew barrel (any where) and combine five (5) of the Bloodfang Spider Egg to make a Bloodfang Spider Egg Albumen (No Trade, Weight 0.3) (Brewing Trivial 100).

.

4) Now you need to make Eron's Bloodfang Nostrum (Weight 0.7) (Brewing 400).

It is made with:

.

5) FARMING: You need to acquire an Uncut Rubelite (Weight 0.1).

It drops in many zones or can be acquired from another player.

.

6) DRAGONSCALE HILLS: Grab your Jewelry bag and head back to Eron.

Give him Eron's Bloodfang Nostrum and he will give you Eron's Tinkered Reconfigurable Jewelry Web (No Trade, Weight 0.1).

.

7) Now combine the Eron's Tinkered Reconfigurable Jewelry Web, Uncut Rubelite and the Eron's Reconfigured Jewelry (melee version from the 5th task) to make Eron's Geared Jewelry (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.1; 25 AC, 353 HP, 338 MANA, 338 END; 19+1 STR, 19+1 DEX, 19+1 STA, 8 CHA, 8 WIS, 8 INT, 19+1 AGI; 14 FIRE, 14 DIS, 14 COLD, 14 POISON, 14 MAGIC; Avoidance 5, Attack 10, Regen 2, Damage Shield Mitigation 1, Heal Amount 1, Spell Damage 1; Required Level 75; Click Effect: Form of Defense II (54 AC and "Screech"), Worn Effect Improved Dodge III (+30% to Dodge); Type 7 Slot).

.

8) Now give the Eron's Geared Jewelry to Eron, to finish this task!

You may now claim (or claim it later) your Eron's Geared Jewelry!

.#7 STEAMY REVENGE

1) DRAGONSCALE HILLS: After completing the sixth task, hail Eron Nurwistle and follow along (or try saying "Tailoring" and/or "Thread") to get the seventh task called, "Steamy Revenge."

He will give you Eron's Thread (No Trade, Weight 0.2).

Scribe Eron's Thread or you will not be able to do later combines.

This task centers on your Tailoring skill.

.

2) STEAM FACTORY: You are here after a number of drops, as follows (all MOB's here are Level 78-plus):

.

3) ACQUIRE NEEDS: You now need to acquire certain needs for the next combine.

You also need at least two (2) Spool (Magic, Weight 0.1) to take with you for the next step. They are made in a forge (Smithing 106) with a Sandalwood (Weight 0.1) (sold by Alchemy merchants) and two (2) Velium Bits (Weight 0.1) (Smithing 21).

You will need some sort of sewing kit... a Planar Sewing Kit can be purchased from Tailor Kujen in the Plane of Knowledge.

The Velium Bits are made from two (2) Small Piece of Velium (Weight 0.5) (drops in Velketor's Labyrinth, or can be obtained from another player) and a Coldain Temper (Magic, Weight 0.1) (sold by Nimren Stonecutter (Level 30) in Thurgadin).

.

4) STEAM FACTORY: Now you need to make two (2) Spool of Energized Brownie Hair Thread (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1) (Tailoring 100).

WARNING: This combine MUST be done in this zone! Trying the combine in any other zone will result in failure! So get what you need and come back to this zone!

It is made with six (6) Strand of Brownie Hair, a Steam Suit Hydraulic Fluid and a Spool.

This combine can only be done in certain locations in this zone! The area must be clear of nearby MOB's as well.

You want to make at least two (2) of these.

NOTE: Several adjustments have been made to this combine due to player feedback and bugs. As of this typing, the "secret" places you once could do this combine, with no clearing, have been nerfed. There now appears to be only one place it will work properly, as noted below.

Trying this combine in the wrong place will result in an emote that says the "threads" fall apart. Don't worry; you do not lose the items! Trying this combine in the proper area without killing all the nearby MOB's (to include roamers), will result in an emote about there being too much "activity" nearby.

On the east side of the zone, about halfway up (north), you will see an area where there are four (4) generators (aka turbines, etc.). It looks something like a four-leaf clover on the map. This is where you want to go for the combine.

The south-east "circle" of this area is the specific room you want to do the combine in. Clear all the MOB's from that at least that one circular area (to include roamers).

Once all the MOB's are dead, hurry up into the room, pull out your sewing kit, stand under the turbine and make the two (2) (or more, if you can) Spool of Energized Brownie Hair Thread.

If the room is not 100% clear of MOB's, the combine will not succeed (re: too much activity near by).

070908 PATCH UPDATE NOTICE: "Eron in the Dragonscale Hills has figured a slightly better method for making spools of energized brownie hair. You can now make it if the denizens of the zone are nearby. It still requires that you be by the specific energy charge within the main power room, and not any of the auxiliary power rooms. Be aware that being in the energy charge is painful and not compatible with invisibility or stealth. This new method will also not work if you are lying down. You will not need to go back to him to get the new method, as he has communicated it to everyone."

Translation… while you can now do this combine despite nearby MOB’s, you can’t do it while invisible, hiding or feigning death.

.

4) DRAGONSCALE HILLS: Grab your Jewelry bag and your sewing kit and head back to Eron.

Give him (one at a time) a Purple Gem Grade Faycite, a Yellow Gem Grade Faycite and then a Spool of Energized Brownie Hair Thread.

He will give you Eron's Threaded Web Pattern (No Trade, Weight 0.1).

.

5) Now combine Eron's Threaded Web Pattern and a Spool of Energized Brownie Hair Thread in your Sewing Kit to make Eron's Threaded Web (No Trade, Weight 0.1) (Tailoring 400).

If it fails, you may have to acquire (make) another Spool of Energized Brownie Hair Thread.

.

6) Now, in your Jewelry kit, combine the Eron's Threaded Web, a Purple Gem Grade Faycite, a Yellow Gem Grade Faycite and the Eron's Geared Jewelry (melee version from the 6th task) to make Eron's Jewelry!

.

7) Now give the Eron's Jewelry to Eron to finish this task and claim your reward!

Gratz!

NOTE: There is some more dialog with Eron, if you wish to follow along. It seems to be just lore, as opposed to a lead in to another task.
