ANNIVERSARY LORE

There were no Anniversary Events before the 5th Year of EverQuest. However, upon the 5th Anniversary of EverQuest, a temporary, special Anniversary event was added to the game. After that, it became an annual tradition in EverQuest, with new Anniversary related events being added each year, as well as the old ones being reactivated right along beside them. Anniversary Events generally start around March 16th (EverQuest was launched March 16, 1999), and continue to as late as mid-May. There are now so many Anniversary Events that they are implemented / divided in two parts... "Modern" events (14th Anniversary and forward) and "Legacy" events (5th to 13th Anniversary). The "Legacy" events do not award Commemorative Coins, but do include Fabled MOB's (introduced in 2008). These events do not start until near mid-April. The "Modern" events start right away and generally award Commemorative Coin, which is a specialty coin that can used to buy special items with "a jubilant merchant" in the Plane of Knowledge (near the Nexus stone, and the stuff ain't cheap!). The Mechanical Fortune Teller (near the Crescent Reach stone) was added to the Plane of Knowledge, to help direct you to the events (by year), because now, there are a lot of them. Just hail her and follow along. Download and unzip this file to the 'storyline' folder of your EverQuest directory to have access to a generic, simplified version of these quests, in game, via your Story Window (Alt N)! NOTE: This file can be updated in the event of typo corrections, errors and new events, so you may need a fresh download / install every so often. |

STONES OF THE UNKNOWN (Shared Task)
NOTE: This task is very vague and full of extreme red herrings and misdirects. It is one of the hardest seasonal tasks there has been for a while, if ever. So much so, that it took a number of experienced / veteran Players on Test pursuing this one, to eventually figure out everything... despite the so-called clues. If you like a big challenge, then I suggest you ignore the guide on this task and venture forth! Good luck if you do!
1) PLANE OF FIRE: You are here to find a ground spawn Plane of Fire Marble Chunk (it looks like a gray rock).
You can pick this up in advance and will save time to do so.
It is on the north 'jopal' island, inside the hut where the tunnel is (/waypoint 1515, 430, -245).

2) THE FEERROTT: You are looking for Talesiyn the Driven, who is on the west wall, towards the south, among some undead MoB's (/waypoint -555, 2820).
Hail Talesiyn the Driven and follow along, or just try saying, "enough," to get this task.
NOTE: While this is a Shared (group) task, but you can do it Solo.
Continue to follow along for three (3) more updates (say 'giantish rune,' 'source of the stone,' & 'lingering magic').
Now give him the Plane of Fire Marble Chunk for another update. He will give it right back to you with further instructions.

3) ERUDIN PALACE: You are looking for Vasile Jahnir, who is in the upstairs in the 'Tower of the Gate Callers' (/waypoint 720, 900, 70).
If you access to an Erudin Brazier, it can speed up travel time.
Say to him, "Lingering magic of the rune," for an update.

4) KATTA CASTRUM: You are here to fins a ground spawn and an NPC.
You need a book, Lore, Myth, and their Symbolism, which is a ground spawn (it looks like a book), on a table, in a building in the northeast of the middle ring (/waypoint 630, -1240, -100).
NOTE: You can run south and then east around to this location, or you can speed it up a bit by using the portals, that is, if you have them activated and know how to use them. If you are interested in how to activate and use portals, click here!
Now you are looking for Archarcanist Pintanus, who is on the main floor inside the center pyramid (/waypoint -105, 100).
He is a quest giver, so do not hail and follow along with his text. Instead, just say 'Rune' to him for an update.
Lastly, give the Lore, Myth, and their Symbolism to Archarcanist Pintanus and follow along for an update.

5) FROSTCRYPT, THRONE OF THE SHADE KING: You are here to find a ground spawn book, Ancient Red Covered Tome.
If you have a Necklace of Warportal Fragments, it can speed up travel time.
It is located around the corner to the right, on the ramp down (/waypoint 85, -75, -25).

6) VALDEHOLM: You are looking for a wraithguard lorefinder, who is up on a hill to the right, after you cross the bridge (/waypoint -1855, -810, 90).
Hail him and say 'Rune' and then follow long for an update.
Then give him the Ancient Red Covered Tome for another update.

7) DEAD HILLS: You are here looking for Clodo Gomph. He is wondering around the camp / docks (area of /waypoint -1200, -735, 15).
Give him the Plane of Fire Marble Chunk (he gives it back) and follow along for an update.

8) THE FEERROTT: Head back to Talesiyn the Driven.
Say to Talesiyn the Driven, 'Massive,' and then 'Enormous Crusher' for two (2) updates.
Then give him the Plane of Fire Marble Chunk for an update.
The say 'Truth' to Talesiyn the Driven, to finish up.
You should get ten (10) Commemorative Coin.

1) STEAMFONT MOUNTAINS: You are looking for Captain Nalot the Fake, who is along the far north wall (/waypoint 1680, -760).
Hail Captain Nalot the Fake and follow along, or just try saying, "real name," to get this task.
It seems he as earned the alias Captain Nalot the Fake, and wants his real name back, which he reveals is 'Merryn Wildgear.'

2) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: Head over to Caden Zharik (/waypoint -345, 755, -90, near the small bank), and buy a Gnomish Spirits, if you don't all ready have one.

3) ICECLAD OCEAN: You are looking for Captain Nalot (the real one), who is on the third island to the northeast, at the gnome camp (/waypoint 4630, 1320, inside one of the igloos).
If you access to a Banner: Gnome Pirates, it can speed up travel time.
Hail Captain Nalot and follow along for an update.
Next, give Captain Nalot a Gnomish Spirits and he will give you a Statement from Captain Nalot.

4) STEAMFONT MOUNTAINS: Head back Captain Nalot the Fake.
If you access to a Fantastic Fuel Orb, Steamfont Lava Lamp or a Veilbreaker Executive Escape Device, they can speed up travel time.
Give the Statement from Captain Nalot to Captain Nalot the Fake for an update.
Then hail Captain Nalot the Fake for another update.

5) AK'ANON: You are looking for Welno Tanlonikan, who is a Rogue Guildmaster in the lower floor of a building to the northeast (/waypoint 1240, -605, -50).
He is on Find, but even that can be tricky to follow, since you enter the building from the top floor, go through a secret wall and then down a ramp.
Hail Welno Tanlonikan and follow along and he will give you a Statement from Welno Tanlonikan.

6) STEAMFONT MOUNTAINS: Head back Captain Nalot the Fake.
Give the Statement from Welno Tanlonikan to Captain Nalot the Fake for an update.
Then hail Captain Nalot the Fake for another update.

7) LESSER FAYDARK: You are looking for Sparky Wildgear, who is in the northwest area, by a stone tower (/waypoint 1350, 2895) (She is on Find).
If you access to a Painting: Brownie Encampment, it can speed up travel time.
Hail Sparky Wildgear and follow along for an update.
It turns out, she is not very fond of her brother, so she rips up her statement and tosses it aside, whereupon the nearby 'Pixie' MoB's snatch up the pieces.
Now you need to kill Pixie's in the area until you acquire (loot) three (3) Segment of Sparky's Statement.
Once done, click any one (1) of them to create a Statement from Sparky Wildgear.
BONUS ITEM: Before you leave, look around the area of the tower for a ground spawn Sprinkled Pixie Dust (it looks like a purple-ish glowy) and pick one up (such as /waypoint 1125, 2850).

8) STEAMFONT MOUNTAINS: On your way back back to Captain Nalot the Fake, look around near the buildings outside of Ak'Anon (area of /waypoint -1140, 400).
Look for a Cleanwork MMM (a mechanical rat), who is roaming about the area. You may notice that it emotes about pixie dust and if you hail it, it will talk about pixie dust. Give the Sprinkled Pixie Dust to Cleanwork MMM and you will get a Pocket Pixie Prankster (pet illusion / familiar)!
Now head on over to Captain Nalot the Fake and give him the Statement from Sparky Wildgear for an update.
Then hail and follow along with Captain Nalot the Fake for another update.
Captain Nalot the Fake will give you Merryn's Coinpurse.

9) HIGHPASS HOLD: You are here looking for Barkeep Eddrix, who is on a field trip this zone.
If you access to a Banner: The Knotted Serpent, it can speed up travel time.
He is in the 'Top O' the World' bar (/waypoint 225, 585, mid-west part of the zone).
Give Merryn's Coinpurse to Barkeep Eddrix, and he will give you a Notice of Debt Paid.
Barkeep Eddrix does have some more text to follow along with, if you want the full story.

10) STEAMFONT MOUNTAINS: Head back Captain Nalot the Fake.
Give the Notice of Debt Paid to Captain Nalot the Fake to finish up.
You should get ten (10) Commemorative Coin.

REETUK THE INEXORABLE (Group Mission)
1) CRESCENT REACH: You are looking for Historian Graya, who is on the main floor in the 'Traveler's Nook' (/waypoint -1445, -1635).
Hail Historian Graya and follow along, or just try saying, "Imagine," to get this task.
NOTE: This a a group mission, but you can get it solo. I was able to MOLO this (Level 120, raid geared), but it took a while, as the MoB's have an abundance of Hit Points.
Then sit down (yes, this is required) and say "Ready" to zone into the instance.

2) BLIGHTFIRE MOORS: REETUK THE INEXORABLE: You are here to do the following:
You should get 20 (twenty) Commemorative Coin.

FOOTLOOSE AND FANCY FREE (Solo)
1) PLANE OF TRANQUILITY: You are looking for Erol Xybella, who is on the docks near the Plane of Fire (/waypoint 370, 2120).
Hail NPC and follow along, or just try saying, "WHAM," to get this task (but I suggest following along for the fun keywords).

2) HALAS: You are here to find a ground spawn Horn of Crescendoing Legends.
If you access to a Mounted Bear Head, Mounted Snake Head or a Mounted Tiger Head, it can speed up travel time.
Near 'McQuaid's Dark Stout' bar on the east side, is a well. Jump in and swim to the bottom to pick up the Horn of Crescendoing Legends (/waypoint 185, -215, -125).
NOTE: The other ground spawn you will see there is related to the Artisan's Prize.

3) PLANE OF TRANQUILITY: Head back to Erol Xybella.
If you access to a Incense of Tranquility (Marketplace), it can speed up travel time.
Give the Horn of Crescendoing Legends to Erol Xybella and follow along for an update.

4) RIVERVALE: You are here to find Rhysl Dorbint.
If you access to a Rivervale Jumjum Cart, it can speed up travel time.
He is standing on one of the halfling huts in the south west (/waypoint -215, -80).
Hail him and say, 'Erol found it,' then follow along for an update.

5) FIRIONA VIE: You are here to find a ground spawn Flute of Everlasting Gallantry.
It is a ground spawn, underwater, along the city wall to the south west (/waypoint -2840, 3365, -140).

6) RIVERVALE: Head back to find Rhysl Dorbint.
Give the Flute of Everlasting Gallantry to Rhysl Dorbint for an update.

7) GREATER FAYDARK: You are looking for a dropped item and Gael Le Rhytid, who is on the northwest platform of Kelethin (/waypoint 970, 510, 120).
If you access to a Torch of Kelethin, it can speed up travel time.
Hail her and follow along for an update.
Now head towards the south / southwest and look for 'Pixie' MoB's to kill, until you get a Barbat of Unrelenting Chivalry.
Take the Barbat of Unrelenting Chivalry back to Gael Le Rhytid and follow along for an update.
Gael Le Rhytid will give you a Drum of Legendary Unison.

8) WEST FREEPORT: You are looking for Llaydo Tamms, who is in 'Tassel's Tavern' just inside the city gates (/waypoint -155, -425).
Hail him and then give him the Drum of Legendary Unison, for an update.

9) PLANE OF TRANQUILITY: Head back to Erol Xybella.
Hail him and follow along for an update.

10) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: You are looking for Adaha, who is standing my the Nexus portal (/waypoint 420, -90).
Hail her and follow along for an update.
She wants a book. Head inside the building right there, to the east ('Fellowship' building). Go into the east side room by the far book case (/waypoint 404, -20) and you should get a location update and a book, Epic Tales of Heroism, will pop on your cursor.
BONUS ITEM (OPTIONAL): Just outside the same building, you will see The Great Hero Ezra (/waypoint 340, 85). Give her the Epic Tales of Heroism, and you will get back Autographed Epic Tales of Heroism.
Give the Epic Tales of Heroism (or the Autographed Epic Tales of Heroism) to Adaha for an update. Giving her the Autographed Epic Tales of Heroism will result in her giving you a Music Box: Ballad of Legends (clicky that plays music, be sure to read the lore tab).

11) PLANE OF TRANQUILITY: Head back to Erol Xybella.
Say to him that 'Adaha is in,' to finish up!
You will get 10 (ten) Commemorative Coin.
