Rathe Day (aka Rathe Day Conservation) was first added to the game in April of 2024, as a 'day where we can take stock in what it is that makes Norrath's nature beautiful.'
Oddly enough, the initial tasks are from an NPC on Luclin, not Norrath.
It corresponds with Earth Day and is normally available in April of each year.
Download and unzip this file to the 'storyline' folder of your EverQuest directory to have access to a generic, simplified version of these quests, in game, via your Story Window (Alt N)! NOTE: This file can be updated in the event of typo corrections, errors and new events, so you may need a fresh download / install every so often.

PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE (2025 Update)
In the Plane of Knowledge, you can now find a Rathe Initiate on the neutral side (/waypoint -35, -80).
Simply hailing a Rathe Initiate will give you all three (3) of the 2024 Tasks (listed below) at the same time.

Owlbear with Me for a Moment (2024)
1) HOLLOWSHADE MOOR: You are looking for Korah Kai, who is in a little fort encampment near Shar Vahl (/waypoint 1010, 1955, 35).
NOTE: While a Rathe Initiate is in the Plane of Knowledge, all it does is direct you to Luclin.
NOTE: The Hollowshade Wars (outlined here) can change who occupies this fort (Vah Shir, Owlbears, Grimlings...), but Korah Kai will always be here... and be alert for aggro.
Hail and follow along, or just try saying 'Balance,' to get this task.

2) HOLLOWSHADE MOOR: Now do the following:

3) GRIMLING FOREST: Head to just outside the cave that leads to Tenebrous Mountains (/waypoint 1275, -950, 50) and pick up a ground spawn Fresh Owlbear Pinion.

4) TENEBROUS MOUNTAINS: Head to just outside Katta Castellum for a location update (area of /waypoint 40, 1515, -50).

5) TWILIGHT SEA: Head towards the Castle that leads to Fungus Grove (/waypoint -1000, 250, -25) and pick up a ground spawn Warm Owlbear Droppings (eww!).

6) FUNGUS GROVE: As you head into this zone from the Twilight Sea (/waypoint 1975, 1740, -120), look for and pick up a ground spawn Moist Owlbear Down.

7) HOLLOWSHADE MOOR: Head back to Korah Kai, and /say 'Fungus Grove' for an update.
You should get the Cold Owlbear Tuft back.
Next, combine the Cold Owlbear Tuft, Fresh Owlbear Pinion, Warm Owlbear Droppings and Moist Owlbear Down inside the Owlbear Migration Samples Pack to make a Secured Migration Pack, then give the Secured Migration Pack to Korah Kai to finish up.
REWARD: Lost Owlbear Pup (a familiar / pet illusion).

2) WESTERN PLAINS OF KARANA: You are looking for Reeve Purewing, who is in the northwest area, at a set of buildings (/waypoint 475, -4300).
Hail Reeve Purewing and follow along.

3) SOUTHERN PLAINS OF KARANA: Head to the area of /waypoint -5965, 2355, 10 to kill a nesting ursarachnid until you get a Ursticating Hairs from South Karana.

4) LAKE RATHETEAR: Head to the northeast landing (/waypoint 3465, -1295, 0) to kill a nesting ursarachnid until you get a Ursticating Hairs from Lake Rathetear.

5) RATHE MOUNTAINS: Head southeast-ish over the hill from Lake Rathetear (/waypoint 2680, 665, -5) to kill a nesting ursarachnid until you get a Ursticating Hairs from Rathe Mountains.

6) WESTERN PLAINS OF KARANA: Head back to hail Reeve Purewing and follow along if needed.
You should get a Ursticating Hairs Binder.
Next, combine the Ursticating Hairs from South Karana, Ursticating Hairs from Lake Rathetear and Ursticating Hairs from Rathe Mountains inside the Ursticating Hairs Binder to make a Documented Ursticating Hairs Binder.
Give the Documented Ursticating Hairs Binder to Reeve Purewing.

7) THE FEERROTT: Head to southwest fork of the river (on land, /waypoint -1170, 965, -15) to pick up a ground spawn Incubated Ursarachnid Egg.

8) WESTERN PLAINS OF KARANA: Head back to hail Reeve Purewing.
Give the Incubated Ursarachnid Egg to Reeve Purewing, to finish up.
REWARD: Imprinted Ursarachnid Hatchling (a familiar / pet illusion).

Lessons of Luclin Lichen (2024)
1) HOLLOWSHADE MOOR: You are looking for Korah Kai, who is in a little fort encampment near Shar Vahl (/waypoint 1010, 1955, 35).
NOTE: While a Rathe Initiate is in the Plane of Knowledge, all it does is direct you to Luclin.
NOTE: The Hollowshade Wars (outlined here) can change who occupies this fort (Vah Shir, Owlbears, Grimlings...), but Korah Kai will always be here... and be alert for aggro.
Hail and follow along, or just try saying 'Untrained,' to get this task.

2) PALUDAL CAVERNS: You are looking for a living Luclin Lichen, to the south near Shadeweaver's Thicket (/waypoint -3225, 320, 210).
Go up to a living Luclin Lichen and /pat it (do not attack it) to get a Paludal Lichen.

3) HOLLOWSHADE MOOR: Head back Korah Kai.
Give the Paludal Lichen to Korah Kai.
You will get a Paludal Bread Moss Loaf.

4) COBALT SCAR: You are looking for Hunter Tarka, who is on the mid-south beach (/waypoint -710, -200, 60).
Give the Paludal Bread Moss Loaf to Hunter Tarka.
You will get Tarka's Old Tacklebox.

5) HOLLOWSHADE MOOR: Head back Korah Kai.
Give Tarka's Old Tacklebox to Korah Kai.

6) VELKETOR'S LABYRINTH: You are looking for a living Luclin Lichen, that can easily be found on the main floor as you enter the zone.
Go up to a living Luclin Lichen and /pat it (do not attack it) to get a Velketor's Lichen.

7) HOLLOWSHADE MOOR: Head back Korah Kai.
Give Velketor's Lichen to Korah Kai.
You will get Velketor's Dye.

8) SOUTH KALADIM: You are looking for Guard Kroffa, who is to the left, just as you enter the zone (/way point 50, 45, 5).
Give the Velketor's Dye to Guard Kroffa and you will get a Bag of Butcherblock Samples.

9) HOLLOWSHADE MOOR: Head back Korah Kai.
Give the Bag of Butcherblock Samples to Korah Kai.

10) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: You are looking for a Rathe Initiate, who is on the neutral side (/waypoint -35, -70, -155).
Hail a Rathe Initiate, to finish up.
REWARD: Living Lump of Luclin Lichen (a familiar / pet illusion).
