!!!UPDATE!!!: Despite what it may say below, the Dark Reign and the Keepers AA lines were merged into a single AA Line with the April 2024 Patch. The new AA is called '______ of the Nest' (where each level has a different name, with the final level being 'Might of the Nest') and you will no longer lose AA's when swapping factions.
This outlines what you need to do to "progress" with the Dragon's of Norrath Zones.
Unlike other progressions, this one is not necessarily to gain access to new zones, but to gain new Alternate Advancement Abilities!
The rewards are noted below, under each tier.
In order to "progress" you must choose the "Good" or the "Evil" progression. They are both very similar and I have tried to be somewhat generic so that this guide can work with either side!
These work very much like LDoN adventures and the task window will let you know what to do. Like LDoN, the compass marker shows you where to go.
WARNING! Once you choose a side, you can reverse the process and go with the other side. However, it is said that if you do this after completing any Tiers of Progression on one side, you will loose the Alternate Advancement Abilities that you earned (with your original faction), as your faction drops down (reverses). However, when progressing with your new side, you can simply regain (re-earn) the opposite version of the AA you lost.
TASKS: These are "solo" quests that you can obtain at certain points. Completing them (alone or with others, it doesn't matter) rewards you, normally, with coin and faction increases. Tasks usually involve killing a certain number of specific MOB's in a certain zone, or collecting a certain number of drops in a certain zone. The catch is that the kills must be done by you (solo) or by your group. Further, the drops must be looted by you and no one else. The advantage is that you can do Tasks at the same time that you are doing Missions. However, you can normally receive only one faction task at a time. Tasks have no time limit.
MISSIONS: Missions are group tasks (or raids). If you win any mission, you will receive a number of Ebon
NOTE: You may sometimes find that your progress/flagging is not being updated properly. To remedy this, re-hail every NPC at the related camp (inside the cave). If that doesn't work, you may have to back track and re-do one of the group tasks or raids.

STATUS: Completed and Confirmed (all events, both good and evil)!

THE QUEST(S) AKA TASKS
.
1) LEVEL UP!
You must be at least Level 65 to complete this step.
.
2) PICK A SIDE!
All of the Dragon's of Norrath (DoN) zones are accessed via
In the caves in
As a Paladin, it all most goes without saying that you should probably go with the Norrath Keepers.
However, something that may sway you to the dark side, is that it appears that evil missions generally award at least one more crystal than good missions (for the same missions). In fact, my research also seems to indicate that evil progression may sometimes have better rewards (re: 2 AA for Tier 1, as opposed to 1 AA on the Good side). (Can anyone verify this?)
However, with the guild I was in at the time, I had no choice but to go with the Dark Reign. Fortunately, this has not affected my status with any other "good" factions in the game other than DoN ones. Therefore, it doesn't seem to really matter which side you take… just take one!
.
3)
Outside of the caves (directly out from the evil side), up on top of the hill, there is a Wayfarer camp.
Now that you have picked a side, you must now work on gaining faction from Dubious to Indifferent.
This is accomplished by:
· Undertaking Group Missions and turning in the Token you get for winning (you will not be able to obtain any group missions, yourself, until such time as you attain Amiable faction, so you will necessarily have to tag-along with others, who can);
· Undertaking and completing Solo Tasks (tasks are obtained at the Wayfarer Camp… you can get these yourself).
· ...and/or killing the Guards of the opposing camp (the Guards are about Level 60 and are located in the cave tunnels on either side of both camps); They have a lot of hit points, but they do seem to give significant faction hits; If you see someone killing them, feel free to throw a few blows and walk away, as you will also get the faction once the MOB dies.
There are two NPC's for each "side" that will give you solo tasks. These solo tasks are repeatable up until you gain dubious faction.
Wayfarer Mercenary Bitral (Level 70) and Wayfarer Mercenary Elanye (Level 70) will offer you "good" tasks; while Wayfarer Mercenary Jeryx (Level 70) and Wayfarer Mercenary Varein (Level 70) will offer you "evil" tasks.
Both tasks and missions are pretty straight forward. You are told what to do right there in the task window (Alt Q). Sometimes steps are not revealed until you complete the current step.
From a combination of tasks, missions and killing guards, you will soon make Dubious faction with one side or the other. At the same time, you will start becoming
Once you make Dubious faction the NPC's at the Wayfarers Camp will no longer offer you any solo tasks.
.
4) INDIFFERENT TASKS: Now that you are Indifferent, you can get the related tasks for your reward.
Each camp has a DoN Merchant (they offer similar or same items in both camps), a normal Merchant, NPC's that give Missions, an NPC that gives Raids, an NPC that gives Tasks, two Officers (called Officers in evil camp, called a Private or a Lieutenant in the good camp) and a Commander (evil) or Chieftain (good).
The first thing you need to do is speak to the Commander/Chieftain in the camp that you sided with. Hail and follow along. You will receive a character flag and you will be told to speak with another NPC.
Speak with that NPC and you will be offered three (3) tasks. Get them all at the same time, if you can. Like the previous tasks, these simply require that you to go to the necessary zone (regular or instance) and either kill certain MOB's and/or loot a certain number of specific items.
EVIL Tasks you get are called:
· Blood of the Basilisk: Loot five (5) Simmering Basilisk Blood (No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.1) from Tirranun's Delve -- drops off a Domesticated Basilisk (Level 55 to 68);
· Clearing the Path: Kill eight (8) a Stillmoon Drakes (Level 61) in
· The Burning Poison: Loot five (5) Caustic Lavaspinner Venom (No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.1) from Lavaspinner's Lair -- drops off the various Spiders (Level 46 to 52).
GOOD Tasks you get are called:
· Creating an Antidote: Loot five (5) Boiling Lavaspinner Blood (No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.1) from Lavaspinner's Lair -- drops off the various Spiders (Level 46 to 52);
· Burning Arrows: Loot five (5) Delvian Goblin Tooth (No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.1) from Tirranun's Delve -- drops off the various "Delve" type Goblins (Level 60 to 64);
· Greed of the Goblins: Kill eleven (11) a Stillmoon Laborer (Level 52 to 56) in
.
5) FINAL
Once again speak with the Commander/Chieftain and follow along. Again you will receive a character flag and you will be told to speak with another NPC.
Speak with that NPC and you can get a Group
NOTE: You can re-request missions/raids. If time runs out on you or you don't have the help, just talk to the NPC again.
Both EVIL and GOOD will get missions that are in Tirranun's Delve: Have Note Will Travel or Tirranun's Delve: Children of Gimblax, as follows:
· Have Note Will Travel (EVIL): You will need to fight your way straight in and to the far side of the zone; After you kill about 35 Goblins (any type, all Level 60 plus), the Goblin Task Master (Level 71 to 72) will spawn there; He hits for 1K; Kill him and loot the Letter from Tirranun (No Trade, Lore. Weight 0.1); This will spawn nine Goblin Guard (~ Level 65) which you will need to find as you fight your way back to the zone line and zone out; You must kill all nine of them. Everyone in the group should get credit for this event. The Letter can be discarded.
· Children of Gimblax (GOOD): You will need to fight your way straight in to the far side of the zone; You can use invisible past a good number of the MOB's here, but be wary of those that can see through Invisible; You are after Gimblax (Level 75) who is alone in the cave at the far end of the zone; He hits for 1.2K, flurries and enrages; Kill him; Everyone in the group should get credit for this event..
NOTE: Once you win a group mission, you should not have to do it again (but you can). You will get permanent credit for it.
NOTE: You may sometimes find that you cannot get a mission if you are grouped with players who do not have the right level of faction. If so, get the mission then add (/taskadd) them afterwards. If that doesn't work, try this:
· Disband from the group;
· Have the group leader invite you back into the group, but don't accept it right away;
· Talk to the mission giver so that you can see (not accept) the mission;
· Accept the group invite;
· Now accept the mission!
.
6) GET YOUR REWARD!
Head back to Lavastorm and to the Commander/Chieftain.
Hail him to receive your rewards:
· EVIL will get: two (2) AA and an ability called "Gift of the Dark Reign." You will not have to spend any AA on it, it's a freebie. It raises stat maximums by 10 each!
· GOOD will get one (1) AA and an ability called "Gift of the Keepers." You will not have to spend any AA on it, it's a freebie. It raises stat maximums by 10 each!
NOTE: I got the free AA after completing the tasks, before hailing any NPC's at the end. It seems likely that the free AA is awarded upon completing the tasks, while the AA ability and other rewards are awarded at the end of the entire process.
.
1)
Faction gets a little more difficult this time.
Solo tasks are no longer offered to you, so you have to gain faction via Missions (turning in the Tokens) and/or by killing the guards.
.
2) AMIABLE TASKS: Once you make Amiable, head back to Lavastorm.
Hail the Commander/Chieftain and follow along.
You will get a character flag and you will be directed to speak with another NPC (all Level 70).
Speak with that NPC and you will be offered three (3) tasks. Get them all.
Like the previous tasks, these simply require that you to go to the necessary zone (regular or instance) and either kill certain number of specific MOB's and/or loot a certain number of specific items.
EVIL Tasks you get are called:
· Blood from Sand: Loot seven (7) Impure Goblin Blood (No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.1) from
· Army of Stone: Loot five (5) Animated Guardian Essence (No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.1) from
· Reap the Kirin Mind: Loot three (3) Pristine Kirin Brain (No Trade, Magic, Weight 8.0) from The Ascent -- they drop off the various
GOOD Tasks you get are called:
· Turn the Tides of the Sand: Loot seven (7) Sandy Goblin Blood (No Trade, Weight 0.1) from
· Recover the Lost Map: Loot eight (8) Shredded Map Piece (No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.1) from The Ascent -- they drop off the various Puma's (Level 56 to 67);
· Defend the
.
3) FINAL
Once again speak with the Commander/Chieftain and follow along.
You will receive a character flag and you will be told to speak with another NPC.
Speak with that NPC and you will be offered a
The EVIL mission is:
· Drake Eggs: In The Ascent: Drake Eggs, kill drakes until you are able to loot A Stillmoon Drake Egg (No Trade, Weight 0.1); You probably will not get the egg until you are near the top of the first section; This will spawn a Goblin Guard (~Level 65) (along with two Statues), back at the beginning; If you have someone who can succor, getting back is easy but you will have three (3) MOB's on you right away; Kill the Goblin; Head back to Lavastorm and give the A Stillmoon Drake Egg to Celrak Blightblood (Level 70), at the evil camp.
The GOOD mission is:
4) RAID TIME! Go back and speak to the Commander/Chieftain.
Then speak to the Officer (Evil side) or the Lieutenant (on the Good side) and you will be offered a raid.
Both Evil and Good will receive the same raid, called "Calling Emoush" in Tirranun's Delve: Calling Emoush.
It is a 24-player raid (maximum). Luckily, it really doesn't matter if you go on a good raid or an evil raid, as all you need from the event is a Glowing Stone Fragment (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 1.0). The big set-back is that you need to kill Emoush the Destroyer (Level 65) and only six (6) to nine (9) of these will drop!
Emoush is not targetable at first. There are three (3) named MOB's near him called Mystic Braggle (Level 70), Mystic Griknok (Level 70) and Mystic Shiflor (Level 70). All three Mystics must be killed at the same time (they have to all three within a few seconds of each other… so timing counts), in order to be able to attack Emoush.
Emoush hits for 1K and can flurry for 2K.
The Mystics can and will respawn about two (2) minutes after they are killed. At that point, Emoush will not be targetable again… and you will have to kill the Mystics, again. Emoush may heal up some while you do this.
Thus, the key to this raid is to kill all three (3) Mystics at about the same time (AoE spell when they are all low HP) and have heavy DPS on Emoush. There will be one or more loots to roll on!
.
5) GET YOUR REWARD!
Head back to Lavastorm and to the Commander/Chieftain.
Give him the Glowing Stone Fragment and hail him to receive your rewards:
· EVIL will get two (2) AA's, your Classes Level 69 Discipline Tome (or Spell) and an ability called "Tenacity of the Dark Reign" (you gain a permanent 250 Hit Points, 250 Mana and 250 Endurance). You will not have to spend any AA on this, as it is a freebie.
· GOOD will get one (1) AA, your Classes Level 69 Discipline Tome (or Spell) and an ability called "Valor of the Keeper" (you gain a permanent 250 Hit Points, 250 Mana and 250 Endurance). You will not have to spend any AA on this, as it is a freebie.
· NOTE: Paladins (Evil or Good) get their Level 69 discipline, Tome of Guard of Righteousness (No Trade, Weight 0.1).
.
1)
.
2) WARMLY TASKS: Once you make Warmly -- head back to Lavastorm.
Hail the Commander/Chieftain and follow along.
You will get a character flag and you will be directed to another NPC.
Speak with that NPC and you will be offered three (3) tasks. Get all three.
EVIL Tasks are called:
· Muddy the Waters: Kill nine (9) a Stillmoon Water Servant (Level 62 to 64) in the Stillmoon
· Snowfoot Attack: Kill ten (10) "Snowfoot" type Goblins (any kind, all level 60) in The Ascent;
· Knowledge is Power: Loot seven (7) Ancient Scroll of Knowledge (No Trade, Weight 0.1) in Thundercrest Isles -- they drop off of the Sentinel-type MOB's (Level 60 to 66).
GOOD Tasks are called:
· Snowfoot Revenge: Kill ten (10) "Snowfoot" type Goblins (any kind, all level 60) in The Ascent;
· Protect the Waters: Loot five (5) Purified Nest Water (No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.1) (not be confused with the tradable item by the same name) – they drop in
· The Sacred Scrolls: Loot seven (7) Ancient Scroll of Wisdom (No Trade, Magic, Weight 0.1) from Thundercrest Isles -- they drop off of the Sentinel-type MOB's (Level 60 to 66).
.
3) ANOTHER
You will also have to speak with Keeper Dilar Nelune (Good only) or Officer Vacax Rol`Tas (Evil only). You will now be able to get a new mission.
EVIL will get:
· The Gilded Scroll: This is a single-group mission; Go into the Thundercrest Isles: The Gilded Scroll and kill mobs, looting A Scroll (Magic, Weight 0.1); When you loot the right Scroll, it will magically (automatically) turn into a Gilded Scroll of Earth Rending (No Trade, Weight 0.0); Now find and kill the Noble Kirin Scholar (Level 75); Give the Gilded Scroll of Earth Rending to Daleynn Spiritshadow (Level 70) in Lavastorm Mountains at the evil camp; You should get a character flag.
GOOD will get:
· History of the Isle: NOTE: Have a bag slot open! Head to Thundercrest: History of the Isle, a special instanced zone; Now make your way to the "Halls of History" (use invis and/or fight… it's the north west area off the main island); Now clear you way in and kill three (3) guards named the Protector of the Halls, The Guardian of the Halls, and the Defender of the Halls (all Level 73). They hit as hard as 1.5K; After killing each one, there is a statue, nearby, in the same room, called an Artifact of Yar'Lir (Level 1). Open (/open) it to recover the items you need. After looting all three (3) statues, you should have the Gift of Yar'Lir (Magic, Lore, Weight 0.1), the Strength of Yar'Lir (Magic, Lore, Weight 0.1), the Fury of Yar'Lir (Magic, Lore, Weight 0.1) and the Holding of Yar'Lir (Magic, Lore, Weight 0.1, 4-Slot Small, 0% Weight Reduction); The Holding of Yar'Lir is a combine container. Combine the other three (3) items inside it, to make a gem called Secret of Yar'Lir (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.1); This item can be discarded afterwards (there is no turn in).
.
4) RAID TIME: Once you complete the mission, go back to
Once again speak with the Commander/Chieftain and follow along.
Again, you will receive a character flag and you will be told to speak with Captain Aleeth Zyrv (evil) or Lieutenant Ekiltu Verlor (good).
Speak with that NPC and you will be offered a raid event.
Both EVIL and GOOD will get:
.
5) FINAL RAID: Once you complete the mission, go back to
Now take the Lava Spider Spinners to the Commander (evil) or the Chieftain (Good) for a character flag.
Then speak to the Captain/Lieutenant and you will be offered a raid.
Both EVIL and GOOD will get:
· Trial of Perseverance: This is a 24-player raid in Stillmoon Temple: Trial of Perseverance; When you zone in, you will see Osashi (Level 65); Hail him and he will despawn and four (4) A Stillmoon Goblin (Level 65) will spawn; When you kill one, another will spawn; Keep killing them until a A Stillmoon Warlord (Level 73) appears; He hits for up to 1.5K; You need to kill him and loot a Goblin Warlord's Beads; Unfortunately, only six (6) to nine (9) of these drop.
.
6) GET YOUR REWARD!
Head back to Lavastorm and to the Commander/Chieftain.
Give him the Goblin Warlord's Beads to receive your rewards:
· EVIL will get two (2) AA's and an ability called "Embrace of the Dark Reign" (increases your buff slot limit by one). You will not have to spend any AA on this, as it is a freebie.
· GOOD will get two (2) AA's and an ability called "Embrace of the Keepers" (increases your buff slot limit by one). You will not have to spend any AA on this, as it is a freebie.
.
1) LAVASTORM MOUNTAINS: Build faction, just as before, until you attain "Kindly" faction!
.
2) TWO RAIDS: Once you make Kindly, head back to Lavastorm.
Hail the Commander/Chieftain and follow along.
You will get a character flag and you will be directed to speak with another NPC.
Speak with that NPC and you will be offered two (2) raid missions.
Both EVIL and GOOD will get:
· Guardian of the Sands: This is a 42-Player raid (maximum) in Stillmoon Temple: Guardian of the Sands; You are after Shogurei, Guardian of the Sands (Level 75); He is found in the temple, down the right (lower) hallway. He has a gravi-flux-stun, a 7.5K. a 3K and a 1.5K AoE; You MUST keep him on the path, otherwise, you will experience that 7.5K AoE which will can wipe the raid; Keys to this raid are to stay on the pathways and not walk (or float over) the sand (sand = trap, as MOB's spawn). Do not allow the Guardian into the sand (or you will get the 7.5K AoE). Tank in the little hallway near his spawn spot. After he is dead, you need to loot a Quintessence of Sand (Lore, Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1)…. only six (6) to nine (9) of these will drop.
· Goblin Dojo: This is a 24-Player raid (maximum) in Thundercrest Isles: Goblin Dojo; You will face a series of waves of MOB's and there will be a pause between these waves; The 1st wave is five (5) MOB's (all level 70); Take out the Disciple of Water first (because of the Mana Drain), then the Disciple of Fire (because of the 2K DD), then the Disciple of Earth (due to the stun), then the Disciple of Metal and lastly, the Disciple of Wood; The 2nd Wave is four (4) MOB's (all Level 73); Take them out in the order of Master of Rage, Master of Doubt, the Master of Deceit and then the Master of Contentment; The 3rd Wave is three (3) MOB's (all Level 73); Kill them in the order of Grandmaster Beetle, Grandmaster Puma and then Grandmaster Snake; the 4th Wave will be Steel and Silk (both Level 73); The final (5th) wave is Storm Reach Sensei (Level 80); Kill him and loot a Meditation Stone (Lore, No Trade, Magic, Weight 1.0)… only six (6) to nine (9) of these will drop.
.
3) FINAL MISSION: Once you complete the two missions, go back to Lavastorm Mountains.
Once again speak with the Commander/Chieftain.
Give the Commander/Chieftain the Quintessence of Sand and the Meditation Stone (one at a time).
You will receive a character flag and you will be told to speak another NPC.
Speak with that NPC and you will be offered another raid.
Both EVIL and GOOD will get:
· An End to the Storms: This is a 54-Player raid (maximum) in Thundercrest Isles: An End to the Storms; You are after Yar'Lir the Living Storm (Level 80); During this battle, Yar'Lir will "change" forms (names) (Yar'Lir the Hurricane, Yar'Lir the Wind....); She has a 2.5K, 3K and 5K AoE; Several an Instable Storm (level 70) will also spawn during the battle, that can also cast a 2.5K AoE… but they can be mezzed; Which AoE and/or adds take place depends on which name Yar'Lir takes on; The doors lock once they close behind you, so make sure everyone gets in; Have a Ranger run in and weapon-shield to start; The raid should circle the room, with only the melee on the platform; Max melee range; Once Yar'Lir the Hurricane appears, everyone should get under her and disc; On the next change, move back out and be ready to crowd control the adds, as you finish off Yar'Lir (hopefully, or else get ready for more changes). You will need to obtain Yar'Lir's Fang (Lore, No Trade, Magic, Weight 1.0, Piercing, DMG 2, DMG Bonus 15)… only six (6) of these will drop.
.
4) GET YOUR REWARD!
Head back to Lavastorm and to the Commander/Chieftain.
Hail him to receive your rewards:

· GOOD will get two (2) AA's and a new Ability called, "Power of the Keepers" -- which will increase chances for critical melee/magic attacks and heals! You will not have to spend any AA on this, as it is a freebie!
.
1) LAVASTORM MOUNTAINS: Build faction!
.
2) A MISSION: Once you make Ally, head back to Lavastorm.
Hail the Commander/Chieftain and follow along.
You will get a character flag and you will be directed to speak with another NPC.
Speak with that NPC and you will be offered a group mission.
The EVIL Mission is called:
· Rivals: This takes place in The Accursed Nest: Rivals; You need to kill four (4) Norrath Keeper (Level 73) and then loot six Eggs of a Saved Clutch (Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0), which drop off random MOB's; Return one of the Eggs of a Saved Clutch to Pericolo L'Morte (Level 70) in the evil camp for a character flag.
The GOOD Mission is called:
· Origins of the Curse: This takes place in The Accursed Nest: Origins of the Curse; Make your way to the "Fire Lair" area in the Nest to find Zebeker, A Necromancer's Pet (Level 65); Hail him and follow along or just try saying, "What bone chips?"; Now find four (4) A Remnant of the Curse (Level 73); Kill them and loot four (4) Fragments of Zebeker's Bone Chips (No Trade, Weight 0.1)); The Remnants do not assist other MOB's in the zone (they are indifferent until you attack them), nor do the other MOB's assist them (but you can get proximity aggro); Take the four (4) Fragments of Zebeker's Bone Chips back to Zebeker; Now head out and speak to Chieftain Relae Aderi to finish (you should get a character flag).
.
3) RAIDING AGAIN: Once you complete the mission, go back to Lavastorm Mountains.
Once again speak with the Commander/Chieftain and follow along.
Again you will receive a character flag you will be told to speak with another NPC.
Speak with that NPC and you will be offered a raid.
Both EVIL and GOOD will get:
.
4) FINAL RAID! Once you complete the raid, go back to Lavastorm Mountains.
Once again speak with the Commander/Chieftain and follow along.
Give him the Diseased Wing Fragment.
Again you will receive a character flag and you will be told to speak with another NPC.
Speak with that NPC and you will be offered a raid.
Both EVIL and GOOD will get:
This is an involved raid of strategy, team work and patience... so I will present the strategy is phases, below. This is going to read like too much to comprehend and deal with, but once you attempt it, it gets easier and more logical. It really isn't as complicated as it looks, so long as the duties are assigned and carried out and all players stick to their roles (so as not to interfere with the duties of the key players and/or spawn more adds than necessary).
Like I said, team work and patience!
NOTE: This raid can be mana intensive. Luckily, you will see a MOB called Cloud of Concentrated Chaos (Level 65). When you need mana refreshed, pull and kill this MOB (it will respawn shortly). When it dies, it will refresh the raid with 10K Mana and 10K HP! Just be sure to "save' killing this MOB for when you really need it, rather than just killing it when it appears.
PRE-RAID:
· Everyone in the raid needs to set up a voice trigger for the phrase "SENSE YOUR DOOM."
· Everyone in the raid is to set up a multi-line Hot Key (Hot Button) that turns off attack (/attack off), targets Mournful Spirit (/tar mournful_spirit) and then speaks a phrase (/say Shoulder my burden).
· NO ONE is to have ANY damage shield buffs whatsoever! This is very important.
· You will need an Incorporeal Shadow (Level 70) controller, A Tainted Egg (Level 1) spotter, a person to cast a mass translocation spell and a Corrupted Drake (Level 70) controller.
· Make sure everyone understands that staying alive is priority number one. Feign death, kite, run... whatever it takes.
· This is because any player death results in the spawning of A Spirit Wraith (Level 70), which can hit for 1.5K (but it is mezzable). They need to be killed (or mezzed) ASAP if they appear. They have a particularly nasty knock back that tosses players for quite a distance. The knock back alone can cause major issues for the raid.
· Set up Fellowship campfires, a Guild Banner and or have players bind in Broodlands at the zone in, if they can. This can be very useful later (Phase Four, below).
PHASE ONE (100% to 75%):
· The event area is just up and to the right from where you zone in.
· In the area where Vishimtar is located, you will note that it is simply a large round platform. In the center is a rock wall. You want to tank Vishimtar at that wall.
· Simply have the tank pull Vishimtar when ready. This first part of the raid is very simple, as all the raid needs to do is DPS Vishimtar down to 75% (save discs for now).
PHASE TWO (75% to 50%):
· The entire raid now needs to generally forget any idea of DPS on Vishimtar... their primary concern should 100% be dealing with and/or controlling the adds, staying alive and attacking Vishimtar in between.
· At this point, four (4) Incorporeal Shadow will spawn. They are very low HP and very light hitters.
· This is when the SK (or a Paladin) needs to AoE aggro and drag them (all four) away from the raid. If help is needed gaining aggro control, other Knights can assist and help drag them away until the SK has aggro on all four (4) of them.
· The SK (and any assisting knights) should have no weapon equipped (avoids riposte... they die easy).
· Take them out into the hallway, down the ramp (go left) and through the doors down that direction. The SK should have no trouble keeping them busy for the rest of the raid, with a Heal Over Time spell. Do NOT kill them!
· The reason you should not attack or riposte the Incorporeal Shadow is because they die very easy and a Lifedrain Shadow (Level 70) will spawn in their place. The Lifedrain Shadow can hit for 2K. Don't panic if you get a Lifedrain Shadow, as they will despawn back into a Incorporeal Shadow within a minute... but in that time you need to control them as they can do some hurt to casters if they get loose.
· Meanwhile, about four (4) A Tainted Egg (Level 1) will spawn somewhere about the platform. They will spawn one (1) at a time at intervals that’s possibly based on the health of Vishimtar.
· This is where the "spotter" comes in to play. The spotter will watch for A Tainted Egg to appear, call out assist and the direction (North, South, etc.) in which the Egg is located, so everyone can find it faster. Spells are useless on the eggs (don't waste the mana). Blunt weapons do major damage, so use blunt weapons. These Eggs will keep on spawning for the rest of the event.
· Once the four (4) Shadows are aggroed away and any Eggs are destroyed, the raid can go back and forth with DPS on Vishimtar.
PHASE THREE (50% to 25%):
· The raid can now go back to DPS on Vishimtar, discs included.
· Also, the four (4) Corrupted Drake will become active (until this point they could be seen lying in the four corners of the platform, inactive).
· This is where the Drake controller comes into play. This person should be set up by the rock, on the right (as you head towards the center of the platform from the tunnels). Have knights aggro (but don't damage) the Drakes to this player. The Drake controller will then take aggro on all four (4) of the Drakes and keep them aggroed (no damage, no weapon, no riposte) for the rest of the raid. They can hit for 2K max, so a lesser healer should be able to keep this person alive (otherwise you may need to kite them on the other side of the center wall).
· If you kill a Drake, it will simply respawn (instantly) and go after a random target… which can be bad.
· Meanwhile, another four (4) A Tainted Egg will appear, just as before (one at a time, at intervals). Deal with them in the same manner as before (DPS them, not Vishimtar).
PHASE FOUR (25% to 0%):
· Once again, another four (4) A Tainted Egg will appear at intervals along the way. Deal with them in the same manner as before (DPS them, not Vishimtar).
· At this point, Vishimtar begins to cast a Death Touch on random raid members (one at a time).
· This is where the "Sense your doom" emote (voice trigger) comes into play.
· Vishimtar is basically invulnerable (think Hanvar in Anguish) until the cursed person is cured of the curse. If the person gets cured, Vishimtar can be killed 1% more (yes, only 1%); Otherwise, the player will die or needs to leave the zone.
· If the player dies, it simply makes the event harder as they now have another add to deal with (A Spirit Wraith, previously noted, which spawns on player deaths) and Vishimtar is still invulnerable.
· This is where the mass translocation comes into play. Cast the translocation spell so that everyone has the box appear. Players should leave this box on screen and use it only as a last resort. The box doesn't stay up forever, so it will need to be recast at regular intervals. Basically, if they get the curse and can't get cured within 40 seconds, they need to take the translocation to avoid the DT and save the raid from having to deal with an additional add. They can then run back and rejoin the battle (it's faster if they bind outside… or there is a fellowship campfire or guild banner set up outside).
· Anyway, if your voice trigger goes off, you have 40 seconds to find a Mournful Spirit (Level 75). The hot key (see above) simply makes it more expedient to make sure attack is off, that you can target the Spirit and then say the phrase that gets you cured ("Shoulder my burden"), which allows Vishimtar to be DPS'ed down 1% more.
· To win this last phase, twenty-five (25!) players need to successfully get themselves cured!
If you win, you need to loot a Shadowscale of Vishimtar (Lore, Magic, No Trade, Weight 1.0). There will only be six (6) to nine (9) these to drop (on Vishimtar).
.
5) GET YOUR FINAL REWARD!

· GOOD will get two (2) AA's and a new Ability called, "Sanctity of the Keepers" -- which will provide with an innate chance to completely avoid the effects of detrimental spells! You will not have to spend any AA on this, as it is a freebie!
