BONE MASK OF THE ANCIENT IKSAR BARON YOSIG'S SKELETON
.............................
THE QUEST(S)
Evil Afoot Idle Hands Purify the Body The Grand Illusion The Skull of the Ancient
1) FIELD OF SCALE: First up, you need to work on acquiring this mask as it will make everything easier.
You are looking for Phara'Dar (Level 90), in the southern "dragon" area of the zone.
Hail and follow along, or just try saying, "See this through," to get the task called, "The Grand Illusion."
.
2) Now continue to speak with him, or just try saying, "Ribcage," "Skull," "Hand" and "Foot" to get the tasks called (in order), "Purify the Body," "The Skull of the Ancient," "Idle Hands" and "Evil Afoot."
.
3) PRE-LOOTS: To save time and effort, as you do the following steps, you (or a group member) will need to loot a few Sealed Message (No Trade, Weight 1.0).
There are nine (9) different versions of this item… seven of which are useless. The way to tell the difference is to read them.
You need one (1) that reads:
"The creation of the undead army you requested is underway my lord. Our necromancers are hard at work in the mausoleum, and by this time next week an entire legion of fearless and tireless warriors will rise to your command against the dragons."
You also need at least three (3) that read:
"You must recapture that Sarnak. Failure will not be acceptable. The dragons may be interested in an escaped sarnak. You should show this note to one of them."
Also, as you go along, you can also pre-loot the following (in the Field of Scale):
· Four (4) Vial of Iksar Blood (No Trade, Weight 0.1) (they drop from the "live" Iksar MOB's);
· Four (4) Iksar Bone (No Trade, Weight 0.1) (they drop from the "undead" Iksar MOB's);
· Imperial Ring of Office (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 02; 1 Charge of "Activate Ring") (they drop from various "Sebilisian" MOB's).
.
4) FIELD OF BONE: You are here looking for Commander Koth (Level 80).
He spawns in the ruins near the zone in to Kaesora (20 to 30 minute spawn cycle).
You need to kill him (he hits 2.5K and enrages) and loot the Petrified Skull of Commander Koth (No Trade, Weight 0.8) (aka The Skull of the Ancient).
NOTE: There is a "live" version of Commander Koth in the Field of Scale. The skull he drops is not the version you need (it's a red herring).
.
5) In the mid west of the zone, there is a small building (a crypt).
Inside you will find the Shade of Tharoff (Level 80).
You need to get inside in order to hail him and say to him, “Earthly remains" (Idle Hands).
You will have to clear the area of MOB's, as you can't do this while invisible.
.
6) Now head southeast, to the "Kaesora" area.
Beware undead, as they see through invis.
Straight in through the doors, past the stone monument and between the buildings, you will see some pillars on the right.
In between those pillars you will see two (2) An Iksar Master (Level 85), standing guard over Remains of Master Marthor (Level 80).
The two (2) An Iksar Master are non-aggro, but you are not allowed to open (/open) the Remains of Master Marthor, while they are standing guard. You need to fight them both until they feign death (at about 25% health).
Once they are “FD,” hurry and open the Remains of Master Marthor (they will stand back up soon) and loot the Foot of the Master (No Trade, Weight 0.8) (Evil Afoot).
.
7) In this same area, there is a building in the northeast section.
Inside, you will see Tharoff's Bones (Level 80).
As above, you will not be allowed to open (/open) and loot (/loot) them with any MOB's nearby.
So, you have to clear the building of MOB's. Pull them to the outer wall and slowly establish your camp inside.
Once clear open Tharoff's Bones and loot the Skeletal Hand of Necropsy (No Trade, Weight 0.8) (Idle Hands).
.
8) While you are here, you may as well continue to kill the various Iksar trash MOB's, until you get an Iksar Ribcage (No Trade, Weight 0.8) (Purify the Body).
.
9) How head back to Phara'Dar.
Give him the Petrified Skull of Commander Koth, Foot of the Master and the Skeletal Hand of Necropsy to finish the tasks called "The Skull of the Ancient," "Evil Afoot" and "Idle Hands."
You may now claim your rewards to include (in order) an Iksar Tail Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0), an Iksar Right Hand Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0) and an Iksar Left Hand Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
10) Now give Phara'Dar the Iksar Ribcage for a task update (Purify the Body).
He will give it back to you.
.
11) Now head over to Talendor (Level 90), who is nearby.
Hail him and say, "Impure ribcage" and then give him the Iksar Ribcage (Purify the Body).
.
12) Now head to the area of Kurn's Stronghold.
East of the tower, you should see two (2) An Iksar Alchemist (Level 82) standing by a tree.
You need to pull and kill them (they respawn in about 10 to 15 minutes) until you get Sebilisian Fire (No Trade, weight 0.8) (Purify the Body).
This drop is a bit uncommon and it is not pre-lootable.
.
13) Head back to Talendor and give him the Sebilisian Fire for a task update (Purify the Body).
.
14) Now head back to the crypt area (see Step 4) and kill the undead MOB's (A Sebilisian Bonetrooper and A Sebilisian Bonetrooper, Level 80 to 82), until you get some Viscid Tar (No Trade, Weight 0.8).
This drop is relatively common (it is not pre-lootable).
.
15) Head back to Talendor and give him the Viscid Tar for a task update (Purify the Body).
You should get a Coated Iksar Ribcage (No Trade, Weight 0.8).
.
16) Now head to the far north of the zone and out into the water, to find an island to the east.
On this island is a structure. Calethos, The Living Flame (Level 85) spawns here (he is non-KoS).
He spawns around 11 PM game time and despawns around 2 AM game time, so he is only up for a short time.
Give Calethos the Coated Iksar Ribcage.
You will then get Purified Iksar Ribcage (No Trade, Weight 0.8).
.
17) Now head back to Phara'Dar and give him the Purified Iksar Ribcage.
This will complete the tasks "Purify the Body" as well as "The Grand Illusion."
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Right Ribcage Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0), Iksar Left Ribcage Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0) and the Bone Mask of the Ancient Iksar (see top of page)!
The Mask will be a tremendous help for the rest of this task series, as it makes you generally non-KoS in all zones of the "field of scale" theme (but for the "animal" MOB's).
So, as long as you are in the Field of Scale or connected zones, always use the illusion, from here on out!
.
Broodling in the Hand Cutting Off the Arms Dark Sentry Drake Scourge
Food Supplies Havoc in the Hatchery Lost and Found Parley with Ganak Raising Cabilis
Sarnak Recovery #1 Sarnak Recovery #2 Sarnak Recovery #3 Supplies The Grudge
18) Now head over to Severilous (Level 90), in the same area as the other dragons.
Hail him and follow along, or just try saying, "Feed" to get the task called, "Food Supplies."
.
19) Now find Gorenaire (Level 90), in the same area.
Hail and follow along, or just try saying, "Find and kill," to get the task called "Cutting Off the Arms."
.
20) Now find Trakanon (Level 90), who is the same area.
Hail him and follow along, or just try saying, "Useful" to get the task called, "Supplies."
.
21) It is best to work on this step, as you accomplish the next few steps.
This is because you need to kill four (4) named MOB's that are not always up. It would be useful that you have a tracker with you, so that you can not only see when they spawn, but to find them as well.
The MOB's you need to find and kill (Cutting Off the Arms) are:
They are all Level 85, they all wander about, all have a lot of HP and they all hit upwards of 3K. They are some of the toughest MOB's in the zone.
.
22) KURN'S STRONGHOLD: Once inside, be sure to illusion with your Bone Mask of the Ancient Iksar.
This will allow you to run about and do this task with no trouble at all.
Simply run and explore about the upper floors. You are looking for objects called A Barrel, A Box and A Crate (all Level 30). With the illusion, you can easily find them and destroy them with no aggro.
You need to destroy eight (8) of them (Supplies).
.
23) FIELD OF SCALE: Head back to Trakanon.
Hail him to finish the task called, "Supplies."
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Left Lower Arm Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
24) Now you need to kill six (6) A Sebilisian Hunter (Level 80), which can be found all about the zone.
I suggest the far south wall, to the more western side.
.
25) Once done, in this same area, it should be relatively simple to pull and kill various "snake," "scorpion" and/or "scaled wolf" MOB's (all Level 81-ish), all of which are soloable at Level 85 (they are the lesser MOB's in this zone).
You need to loot varying amounts of Snake Carcass (No Trade, Weight 2.0), Scorpion Carcass (No Trade, Weight 4.0) and/or Chokadai Carcass (No Trade, Weight 7.0).
Basically, you need loot a total of at least 100 (one hundred) pounds (total weight) of these items (any combination… it is the total weight that matters, not the items themselves).
.
26) Now head back to Severilous.
Give him as many of the various Carcass as it takes, to equal 100 pounds (or more) of meat.
You should get ten (10) updates (one for every ten pounds).
NOTE: You can turn in 10 pounds at a time, as you get them (if you wish). Overages will be lost (meaning, if you turn in 14 pounds, you get credit for 10 pounds and loose credit for the extra 4 pounds).
Once you have all ten (10) updates, hail Severilous to complete the task, "Food Supplies."
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Right Upper Arm Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
27) Once you have accomplished Step 20, head back to Gorenaire.
Hail him to finish the task called, "Cutting off the Arms."
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Spine Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
28) Now get up a good group for a series of group missions.
These missions are granted "randomly.” All three (3) start out with the same steps and all three (3) have the same name ("Sarnak Recovery").
It is best to do these following missions back-to-back-to-back.
This is because these missions have lock out timers.
Because of the lock-out timers, any missions you get will either fail (locked out)… or you will get the next mission that you actually need.
This is the simply easiest way to get all three (3) variations in a less time-consuming manner. Because of the lock out and the fact that the first two steps are the same for all of them, you are not getting the same mission you just completed... and therefore, not wasting time and effort.
By now, hopefully, you have a few of the Sealed Message that reads:
"You must recapture that Sarnak. Failure will not be acceptable. The dragons may be interested in an escaped sarnak. You should show this note to one of them."
While you can give this to any Dragon (yes, any Dragon), let's make it simple and utilize Trakanon.
Give Trakanon a Sealed Message and you should get one (1) of the three (3) group missions called "Sarnak Recovery."
NOTE: The three (3) versions of "Sarnak Recovery" are outlined below, in their proper order, but it may not be the order you actually get.
.
29) First, you need to kill three (3) A Sebilisian Tracker (Level 80 to 81).
They are most easily found in the northern zone, usually wondering about.
You should get a task update after the third kill (Sarnak Recovery #1).
.
30) Now you need to find and kill An Escaped Sarnak Footman or An Escaped Sarnak Oracle (both Level 80).
They are most easily found in the northern parts of the zone, usually wondering about.
Keep killing them until you get the task update (Sarnak Recovery #1) (this can take more than one kill, it is random).
.
31) Now head to the far north, out into the water and find the island on the western side of the water.
Here you should find A Sebilisian Emissary (Level 82).
You need to get here (location) and then kill him (Sarnak Recovery #1).
You may need to pull and clear to him, as there are other MOB's around him.
.
32) Head back to Trakanon.
Hail him to finish the task (Sarnak Recovery #1).
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Left Upper Leg Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
33) Now, give Trakanon another of the same version of the Sealed Message to get the second group task called, "Sarnak Recovery."
NOTE: If you are not awarded a mission, keep trying until you do get one.
.
34) First, you need to kill three (3) A Sebilisian Tracker (Level 80 to 81).
They are most easily found in the northern zone, usually wondering about.
You should get a task update after the third kill (Sarnak Recovery #2).
.
35) Now you need to find and kill An Escaped Sarnak Footman or An Escaped Sarnak Oracle (both Level 80).
They are most easily found in the northern parts of the zone, usually wondering about.
Keep killing them until you get the task update (Sarnak Recovery #2) (this can take more than one kill, it is random).
.
36) Now head to the Kurns Stronghold area.
In this area, you should be able to find A Sebilisian Patrol Leader (Level 82).
Pull and kill the A Sebilisian Patrol Leader (Sarnak Recovery #2).
.
37) Head back to Trakanon.
Hail him to finish the task (Sarnak Recovery #2).
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Right Upper Leg Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
38) Now, give Trakanon another of the same version of the Sealed Message to get the third group task called, "Sarnak Recovery."
NOTE: If you are not awarded a mission, keep trying until you do get one.
.
39) First, you need to kill three (3) A Sebilisian Tracker (Level 80 to 81).
They are most easily found in the northern zone, usually wondering about.
You should get a task update after the third kill (Sarnak Recovery #3).
.
40) Now you need to find and kill An Escaped Sarnak Footman or An Escaped Sarnak Oracle (both Level 80).
They are most easily found in the northern parts of the zone, usually wondering about.
Keep killing them until you get the task update (Sarnak Recovery #3) (this can take more than one kill, it is random).
.
41) Now head to the zone-in area (building) to the Kaesora Hatchery, for a task update (Sarnak Recovery #3).
Set up outside this building and then pull and kill four (4) of the A Sokokar Hatchling (Level 80), for another task update (Sarnak Recovery #3).
.
42) Head back to Trakanon.
Hail him to finish the task (Sarnak Recovery #3).
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Hip Bone (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
43) Make sure you have a decent group together, first, so multiple people can get this task accomplished.
Then give Trakanon the Sealed Message that reads:
"The creation of the undead army you requested is underway my lord. Our necromancers are hard at work in the mausoleum, and by this time next week an entire legion of fearless and tireless warriors will rise to your command against the dragons."
This should gain you the group mission called, "Raising Cabilis."
.
44) Now you need to kill the following MOB's for task updates (Raising Cabilis), found in this same zone (in fact, you can pull them from near Trakanon):
· Two (2) A Sebilisian Bonecaster (Level 80);
· Eight (8) A Sebilisian Bonetrooper (Level 82).
.
45) Now head over to Jaled'Dar (Level 90).
Hail him to finish this mission (Raising Cabilis).
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Right Lower Arm Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
46) Now hail and follow along with Jaled'Dar, or just try saying, "Investigate" to get the group mission called, "Lost and Found."
NOTE: To get this task, it appears definite that you must first have done "The Grand Illusion" and "Raising Cabilis." It may also require a certain level of faction, which means doing other tasks. If you did the tasks in the order shown above, you should not have any problems getting this task.
You will need a capable group for this.
WARNING: There is a fifteen (15) minute timer on this task! Steps 47, 48 & 49 must be accomplished within 15 minutes!
47) Now head to the north side of the zone.
Look for An Emerald Dragon Corpse (Level 80) and A Grey Dragon Corpse (Level 80).
You should get a location update in the area of both (Lost and Found).
.
48) Now head east, where you should see Krizlek's Corpse (Level 90).
As you approach you should get another task update (Lost and Found).
You should also see three (3) A Sebilisian Dragonstalker (Level 85) around Krizlek.
You need to kill all three (3) for another task update (Lost and Found). They are immune to snare, but they are mezzable.
Once they are dead, loot a Darkblade Longsword (No Trade, Weight 4.0; Effect: Dragonbane) for another task update (Lost and Found).
.
49) Now take the Darkblade Longsword back to Jaled'Dar to complete the task (Lost and Found).
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Jawbone (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
50) Hail and follow along with Jaled'Dar, or just try saying, "Parley" to get the group mission called, "Parley with Ganak."
You may need a capable group for this one.
NOTE: In order to get this task, you must first have done the "Lost and Found" task.
.
51) Now turn to Trakanon.
Give him the four (4) Iksar Bone and the four (4) Vile of Iksar Blood (see Step 3) for two (2) task updates (Parlay with Ganak).
Then say to him, "Illusion," for another task update (Parley with Ganak).
He will illusion the person who talks to him (preferably a Monk,
.
52) Now take your group into the "Kaesora" area and set up on the east wall.
Have the Bard/Monk/SK/Necro go into the building on the north side to find Emperor Ganak (Level 90).
If he isn't there, stand by a few minutes (he paths in and out of the building).
Have the Bard/Monk/SK/Necro speak to Ganak (hail) for a task update (Parley with Ganak).
Ganak's four (4) "helpers" will then attack, thus the need for a Bard/Monk/SK/Necro to do this, so they can feign death or fade.
.
53) Now you need to pull the four (4) "helpers" and kill them, for four (4) more task updates (Parley with Ganak).
Advisor Resylar, Advisor Sestak, Guardian Hesalyt and Guardian Mekta (all Level 82) are all aggro-linked, so you may very likely not be able to single pull them (even though some claim they have).
Just try not to get any trash MOB’s along with them!
They cannot be mezzed and they can all hit for 3K.
.
54) Head back and hail Jaled'Dar to finish this task (Parley with Ganak).
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Left Upper Arm Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
55) Turn back to Trakanon.
Hail him and follow along or just try saying, "Interested," to get the task called, "The Grudge."
.
56) KURNS STRONGHOLD: Head up a couple of floors and set up camp.
You are here to pull and kill MOB's until you have done the following (The Grudge):
.
57) FIELD OF SCALE: Head back to Trakanon.
Give him the four (4) Heads you collected in Step 56, to finish this task (The Grudge).
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Right Lower Leg Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
58) Now turn to Severilous.
Hail and follow along, or just try saying, "Kill some," to get the group task called, "Drake Scourge."
.
59) Then turn to Gorenaire.
Hail and follow along, or just try saying, "Seek," to get the task called, "Dark Sentry."
.
60) KAESORA LIBRARY: You are here to accomplish the following (a tracker will be useful):
.
61) FIELD OF SCALE: Head back to Gorenaire.
Give him the Thin Notebook for a task update (Dark Sentry) (he will give it back).
Then click your Imperial Ring of Office (see Step 3) for another task update (Dark Sentry).
.
62) Now turn to Severilous.
Give him the Darkened Drake Skull (he will give it back) and then give him the four (4) Iksar Scourge Tail (from Step 60) for two (2) task updates (Drake Scourge).
.
63) KAESORA LIBRARY: You are here to accomplish the following (a tracker will be useful):
· Kill A Librarian (Level 82 to 85) until you loot Dark Notations (Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.5) (Dark Sentry);
· Kill "Corrupt" MOB's (Level 82 to 85) until you get a task update (it will stop fighting and speak, you then need to follow along; when it attacks again, you can then kill it) (Drake Scourge).
.
64) FIELD OF SCALE: Head back to Gorenaire.
Give him the Thin Notebook and the Dark Notations to finish the task called, "Dark Sentry."
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Right Foot Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
65) Now give the Darkened Drake Skull back to Severilous to finish the task called, "Drake Scourge."
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Left Foot Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
66) Head over to Talendor.
Hail him and follow along, or just try saying, "Will," to get the group task called, "Havoc in the Hatchery."
.
67) Then head over to Phara'Dar.
Hail him and follow along or just try saying, "Young," to get the task called, "Broodling in the Hand."
He will give you a Sokokar Cage (No Trade, Weight 12.0, 1 Charge of "Cage the Sokokar").
.
68) KAESORA HATCHERY (aka HATCHERY WING): You are here to accomplish the following:
NOTE: Have a bag slot open!
· Capture A Sokokar Broodling (Level 50) in the western part of the zone (they need to be at 50% health or lower, then click the Sokokar Cage on them) (Broodling in the Hand);
· Loot ten (10) Sokokar Snack (No Trade, Weight 2.0) (random drop) (Broodling in the Hand);
· Loot six (6) Sebilisian Legacy (No Trade, Weight 2.0) (Havoc in the Hatchery);
· "Move" six (6) (eggs) (most rooms have "eggs" sitting on cushions.... some of them can be clicked on, these are the ones you seek) (Havoc in the Hatchery);
· NOTE: The "eggs" can not be clicked if there is any MOB's in the room (you will get aggro)… or if you are invisible;
· Obtain the Legacy Log (No Trade, Lore, 6-Slot Large, Weight 2.9, 0% Weight Reduction) (found on a counter top in the center room) (Havoc in the Hatchery);
· Combine the six Sebilisian Legacy inside the Legacy Log (Havoc in the Hatchery);
· CAUTION: Be sure to accomplish the above combine while in the center of the room where you find the Legacy Log;
· NOTE: You will get a message that you failed the combine, but you will get a task update anyway! You will not get a combined item!
.
69) FIELD OF SCALE: Head back to Talendor.
Hail him to finish the task called, "Havoc in the Hatchery."
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Skull (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
70) Now head over to Phara'Dar.
Hail him to finish the task called, "Broodling in the Hand."
You may now claim your rewards, to include, Iksar Left Lower Leg Bones (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0).
.
71) Now for the combines!
You need to find Tynoc, Herald of the Scale (Level 85), who is in the dragons area.
For each of the below six (6) combines, you will need Bone Wiring Tools (No Trade, Weight 0.8, 8-Slot Large, 0% Weight Reduction), which are sold by Tynoc, Herald of the Scale (you will need to buy a new one for each combine).
Do the following combines inside the Bone Wiring Tools:
· Combine the Iksar Left Hand Bones, Iksar Left Lower Arm Bones and the Iksar Left Upper Arm Bones to make Iksar Left Arm Bone Assembly (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0);
· Combine the Iksar Right Hand Bones, Iksar Right Lower Arm Bones and the Iksar Right Upper Arm Bones to make Iksar Right Arm Bone Assembly (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0);
· Combine the Iksar Right Foot Bones, Iksar Right Lower Leg Bones and the Iksar Right Upper Leg Bones to make Iksar Right Leg Bone Assembly (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0);
· Combine the Iksar Left Foot Bones, Iksar Left Lower Leg Bones and the Iksar Left Upper Leg Bones to make Iksar Left Leg Bone Assembly (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0);
· Combine the Iksar Left Ribcage Bones, Iksar Hip Bone, Iksar Spine Bones and the Iksar Right Ribcage Bones to make Iksar Torso Bone Assembly (Magic, Lore, No Trade, Weight 0.0);
· Lastly, combine the Iksar Left Arm Bone Assembly, Iksar Right Arm Bone Assembly, Iksar Right Leg Bone Assembly, Iksar Left Leg Bone Assembly, Iksar Skull, Iksar Tail Bones, Iksar Jawbone and the Iksar Torso Bone Assembly to make Baron Yosig's Skeleton!
Gratz!
