THE SEEDS OF DESTRUCTION ARMOR

(Group & Raid Armor)

The Seeds of Destruction expansion introduced a complicated set of "quested" armor.

Upgrading this quested armor involves SoD progression… which is outlined here.

As always, how people refer to this armor series can be confusing...

Personally, I like to call the first set of quested armor "Tier 1" armor. However, most people call it Tier 3 armor, as the armor cannot be made or obtained until the third (3rd) "Tier" of the SoD expansion (meaning the Field of Scale).

Tier 1 and Tier 2 armor are simply dropped armor in Oceangreen (Tier 1) and Bloody Kithicor (Tier 2) themes. Such armor is not upgradable.

Each tier of armor provides an increasing number of options when it comes to upgrades, as you can mix and match the combine items for armor variants.

Generally speaking, other than the graphics, the armor only varies by way of the bonuses/effects (as opposed to stats/resists). Also, the stats can be modified with power sources. Results can and will vary by way of which power source you choose to use.

Further, "purity" augs also "boost" the effects of power sources (the higher the Purity rating, the better the effect).

NOTE: The stats shown below on the various armors may not be accurate due to Sony making slight modifications to them, after release. If you see any errors, please let me know.

UNCOMBINING ARMOR & “DOWNGRADING” ESSENCES

In a 2009 patch, Tavid Dennant, in the Guild Lobby, was set up to give players up to sixteen (16) devices (for free) that can be used to "uncombine" armor (culling vortices) or allow players to convert the "essences" from one type to the other (polymorphic cells).

He will also give you devices to make (re-make) the armor (cocoons and cells).

In order to get these items, just hail him and follow along accordingly.

The Consigned Luminescent Culling Vortex (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.3, 1-Slot Giant) and the Consigned Incandescent Culling Vortex (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.2, 1-Slot Giant) can be used to remove (uncombine) armor.

Tier 4 and Tier 5 Group Armor, as well as Tier 2 Raid Armor, can be uncombined with this device.

Basically the Vortex will remove the highest level “essence” (use the “Blue” Vortex if the armor was made with a “blue” Luminescence…. or the “Yellow” Vortex if the armor was made with a “yellow” Incandessence).

You will get back the Luminescent or the Incandessence, along with the original lower level armor (one tier down).

A non-consigned version of these culling devices… the Luminescent Culling Vortex (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.3, 2-Slot Giant) and the Incandescent Culling Vortex (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.2, 2-Slot Giant)… can be purchased starting in The Void (D).

They are used in the same manner.

In fact, The Void versions have 2-slots, rather than 1-slot, as you may have noticed. This is because this version can perform an alternative combine!

These devices can downgrade any Incandessence or Luminescence into the equivalent (same slot) Incandessence or Luminescence of the next tier down.

Thus, Eternals can be made into Medials and Medials made into Seminals.

The same is true with Coevals, which can be made into Primevals (the raid versions).

This combine is accomplished by placing whichever “essence” you want to downgrade inside the proper device (blue for blue, yellow for yellow) along with a single Chronobine and combine them.

CONVERTING INCANDESCENT TO LUMINESCENT & VICE VERSA

The Consigned Temporal Polymorphic Cell (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.2, 1-Slot Giant) is used to convert any "luminescence" into an "incandessence," or vice versa. A non-consigned version of this device can be purchased starting in The Void (C), and are used in the same manner.

Simply put any luminescence or incandessence inside and combine it, to get the opposite version of the same item (yellow to blue, or blue to yellow).

A non-consigned version of this item is sold in The Void, as noted below.

NOTE: Do not confuse this device with the Consigned Temporal Molting Cell (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.2, 2-Slot Giant), which is used to make (combine) armor (as noted in the below outline/guide).

CONVERTING WRIST ARMOR FROM ONE FOCUS TO ANOTHER

This process should work for any wrist armor, of any Tier.

!!!WARNING!!!: Remove any and all Augs before you do this combine!

Zebuxoruk sells aSilenced Tinea Deviation Chamber (Magic, No Trade, 1-Slot Giant, 0% Weight Reduction), starting in The Void (A).

Simply put your wrist armor item in this device, combine it, and it will convert it to the “other” version of the Tier 3 wrist armor.

If you change your mind and decide you want the version you all ready had, simply repeat the process.

NOTE: This conversion is only allowed applies to certain classes (mostly casters). All it does, basically, is change the focus effect (such as from Disease to Poison). Essentially, a Wristguard will become a Wristband, or vice-versa.

NOTE: Paladins are not one of the classes that get alternate focus effects.

NOTE: If you choose to convert to the alternate wrist armor, you will have to convert back to the original wrist armor before you can upgrade it to the next version (Tier), as otherwise, the combine will not succeed.

UPGRADING SECRETS OF FAYDWER "PRISMATIC" ARMOR

TIER THREE ARMOR

1) FIELD OF SCALE THEME (Tier 3): First, you need to obtain one of the "seminal" items.

Each one is needed for certain armor slots.

They can drop from named MOB's from any of the zones in this theme.

It appears that the MOB's that drop these items, consistently drop items for the same armor slot(s). To find what MOB's drop these items, simply look up the items (not the MOB's) on Allakhazam.

They are:

Distorted Seminal Incandessence or Distorted Seminal Luminessence for Arms/Legs (can be made with Void C access or higher);

Fractured Seminal Incandessence or Fractured Seminal Luminessence for Wrists/Hands (can be made with Void (A) access or higher);

Phased Seminal Incandessence or Phased Seminal Luminessence for Chest (can be made with Void D access or higher);

Warped Seminal Incandessence or Warped Seminal Luminessence for Hands/Feet (can be made with Void B access or higher).

Basically, you will need eight of the above (two for wrists, one for each of the other slots), for the full set.

You may notice the items do have a naming process.... "Seminal" indicates Tier 3 (Field of Scale theme).

"Distorted" indicates Arms/Legs, "Fractured" indicates Wrists/Hands, "Phased" indicates Chest and "Warped" indicates Hands/Feet.

Incandessence and Luminessence indicate the type of Armor it makes (Discordant and Concordant, relatively).

2) THE VOID (A, B, C, and/or D): Once you have any of the "seminal" gems, you now need items that are purchased in different versions of The Void, with Chronobine. Getting from one version of The Void to another involves progression (for details, click here)… and as you progress, the next version of The Void includes all of the items offered from the previous version, just in case you were wondering.

NOTE: Have a bag slot open!

Chronobines are earned via tasks and missions, or obtained from other players.

Zebuxoruk (Level 90) sells the various items.

First, you need to buy the combine device. There are various "Cocoons" named specifically for each class.

In the case of Paladins, you will need to buy the Paladin's Polymorphic Cocoon (Magic, Lore, No Trade, 2-Slot Giant, 0% Weight Reduction, Weight 0.2) (offered starting in Void A).

NOTE: You can get a free Consigned Paladin Polymorphic Cocoon (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.2, 2-Slot Giant from Tavid Dennant in the Guild Lobby (hail and follow along accordingly), that is used in the same manner as noted below.

Next, you need to buy the associated "Tinea" item for the same slot as the "Seminal" that you have.

These items only become available as you complete progression, as follows (SoD Progression outline starts here):

THE VOID (A): Quiet Mutating Tinea (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1, for Hands) and Silenced Mutating Tinea (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1, for Wrist);

THE VOID (B): Whispering Mutating Tinea (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1, for Head) and Hushed Mutating Tinea (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1, for Feet);

THE VOID (C): Rustling Mutating Tinea (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1, for Arms) and Humming Mutating Tinea (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1, for Legs);

THE VOID (D): Murmuring Mutating Tinea (Magic, No Trade, Weight 0.1, for Chest).

3) Once you have the proper "Tinea" to go with your "Seminal," combine them in the Paladin's Polymorphic Cocoon to make the armor.

There are two (2) versions of the armor that you can make.

The "Luminessence" creates the "Concordant" (“good”) armor while the "Incandessence" creates the "Discordant" (“evil”) armor.

These two (2) sets of armor are identical, but for the effects/bonuses.

They are all Required Level 80, Purity 50, No Trade, Magic and Infusible.

They are also Lore, but for the Wrist items.

They all have a Type 7 and a Type 13 slot.

TIER FOUR ARMOR

1) RATHE (TOSKIRAKK) THEME (Tier 4): To upgrade any of the Tier 3 armor, you will need to obtain the "medial" incandessence or luminessence that is dropped off various named, in the "Rathe" theme.

NOTE: You can also "upgrade" the "Prismatic" armor from the Secrets of Faydwer expansion, with these same "medials" (in the case of Paladins, this means the "Prismatic Gallant-Lord" armor).

This time you are after:

Distorted Medial Incandessence or Distorted Medial Luminessence for Arms/Legs;

Fractured Medial Incandessence or Fractured Medial Luminessence for Wrists/Hands;

Phased Medial Incandessence or Phased Medial Luminessence for Chest;

Warped Medial Incandessence or Warped Medial Luminessence for Hands/Feet.

SoD Concordant or Discordant Armor Upgrades

For the SoD Upgrades, you first need to buy the combine device, which is a Temporal Molting Cell (No Trade, Magic, 2-Slot Giant, 0% Weight Reduction, Weight 0.2).

Simply combine your related "medial" and Tier 3 Armor inside the Temporal Molting Cell to make one of the Tier 4 armors.

In that there are two (2) versions of the Tier 3 armor and two (2) versions of the "medials” which can armor that will be one (1) of three (3) possible versions of the Tier 4 Armor.

·         "Vested" armor results when you combine a "Concordant" armor with a medial "luminessence."

·         "Chaotic" armor results when you combine a "Discordant" armor with a medial "incandessence."

·         "Balanced" armor results when you "mix" the armor and "essence" types ("concordant" armor with medial "incandessence" or "discordant" armor with medial "luminessence").

SoF "Prismatic" Upgrades

If you want to "upgrade" your "Prismatic" SoF Armor, you will need to buy one (1) of three (3) combine items, depending on what type of Tier 4 SoD armor you wish to make.

·         The Prismatic Incandescent Mutation Nexus (No Trade, Magic, 2-Slot Giant, 0% Weight Reduction, Weight 0.4) can be used to make the "Chaotic" armor, by combining a "Prismatic" armor item and the related medial "incandessence."

·         The Prismatic Luminescent Mutation Nexus (No Trade, Magic, 2-Slot Giant, 0% Weight Reduction, Weight 0.4) can be used to make the "Vested" armor, by combining a "Prismatic" armor item and the related medial "incandessence."

·         The Prismatic Fluorescent Mutation Nexus (No Trade, Magic, 2-SLot Giant, 0% Weight Reduction, Weight 0.4) can be used to make the "Balanced" armor, by combining a "Prismatic" armor item with either a related medial "incandessence" or a related medial "luminescence."

These three (3) sets of armor are identical but for the effects/bonuses.

They are all Required Level 80, Purity 50, No Trade, Magic and Infusible.

They are also Lore, but for the Wrist items.

They all have a Type 7 and a Type 13 slot.

1) KUUA (BLOODFIELDS) THEME (Tier 5): To upgrade any of the Tier 4 armor, you will need to obtain the "eternal" incandessence or luminessence dropped off of various named, in the "Kuua" theme.

This time you are after:

Distorted Eternal Incandessence or Distorted Eternal Luminessence for Arms/Legs;

Fractured Eternal Incandessence or Fractured Eternal Luminessence for Wrists/Hands;

You will (again) need to buy a Temporal Molting Cell.

Simply combine your related "eternal" and Tier 4 Armor inside the Temporal Molting Cell to make one of the Tier 5 armors.

In that there are three (3) versions of the Tier 4 armor and two (2) versions of the "medials," the resulting armor will be one (1) of four (4) versions of the Tier 5 armor.

·         "Inflicted" armor results when you combine a "Chaotic" armor with an eternal "incandessence."

·         "Ordained" armor results when you combine a "Vested" armor with an eternal "luminessence."

·         "Tainted" armor results when you combine either a "Balanced" armor with an eternal "incandessence." or a "Chaotic" armor with an eternal "luminessence".

TIER TWO RAID ARMOR

1) RAID ARMOR (2nd Tier): To upgrade to second tier raid armor, you will first need to obtain the "primeval" incandescence or luminescence that is dropped in various SoD raid events.

NOTE: This armor does not require the group armor (of any tier) to obtain.

!!! NOTICE !!!: Do NOT dump (destroy) your Tier 5 Group armor! You will be able to use it again later, in this series!

This called “Tier 2 Raid Armor.”

I call this Tier 2 Raid Armor because there are raid armor drops that do not require questing (combines). They are simply your basic raid armor drops… as is armor, so to speak.

These drops are referred to as “Tier 1 Raid Armor.”

For Paladins, this “Tier 1 Raid Armor” is the “Eon Forged Plate” armor. This armor is easily better than the Tier 5 Group Armor, but it is not as good as the Tier 2 Raid Armor (shown below).

This time you are after:

Distorted Primeval Incandessence or Distorted Primeval Luminessence for Arms/Legs;

Fractured Primeval Incandessence or Fractured Primeval Luminessence for Wrists/Hands;

Phased Primeval Incandessence or Phased Primeval Luminessence for Chest;

As before, progression is involved, as the “tinea” items only offered in certain versions of The Void (again, see above).

3) Once you have obtained the items in Steps 1 & 2, combine the primeval “essence” with the “tinea” inside the Paladin's Polymorphic Cocoon to make your SoD Raid Tier Two Armor!

As before, you will make one of two versions, based on which “essence” you used.

This time, your Concordant/Discordant Armor is called “Soulstoke Plate” armor.

These two (2) sets of armor are nearly identical but for the effects/bonuses.

They are all Required Level 85, Purity 75, No Trade, Magic and Infusible.

They are also Lore, but for the Wrist items.

They all have a Type 8 and a Type 14 slot, except the Breastplate, which also has a Type 15 slot.

Unlike previous armor sets and upgrades, these items do have some slight variations from one version to another, usually in the resists and stat over caps.

TIER THREE RAID ARMOR

1) RAID ARMOR (3rd Tier): To upgrade to tier three raid armor, you will first need to obtain the "coeval" incandescence or luminescence that is dropped in various SoD raid events.

This time you are after:

Distorted Coeval Incandessence or Distorted Coeval Luminessence for Arms/Legs;

Fractured Coeval Incandessence or Fractured Coeval Luminessence for Wrists/Hands;

Phased Coeval Incandessence or Phased Coeval Luminessence for Chest;

Warped Coeval Incandessence or Warped Coeval Luminessence for Hands/Feet.

2) THE VOID: The second step is pretty much exactly the same as the Tier 4 & 5 Group Armor (see above).

You need to buy the same Temporal Molting Cell, sold in The Void.

3) Once you have obtained the items in Steps 1 & 2, combine the coeval “essence” with your Tier 2 Raid Amor inside the Temporal Molting Cell to make your Tier Three SoD Raid Armor!

As before, you will make one of three versions, based on which “essence” you go use and which type of armor you had.

In that there are two (2) versions of the Tier 3 armor and two (2) versions of the "medials” which can armor that will be one (1) of three (3) possible versions of the Tier 4 Armor.

·         "Vested" armor results when you combine a "Concordant" armor with a coeval "luminessence."

·         "Chaotic" armor results when you combine a "Discordant" armor with a coeval "incandessence."

·         "Balanced" armor results when you "mix" the armor and "essence" types ("concordant" armor with coeval "incandessence" or "discordant" armor with medial "luminessence").

These three (3) sets of armor are nearly identical but for the effects/bonuses.

They are all Required Level 85, Purity 75, No Trade, Magic and Infusible.

They are also Lore, but for the Wrist items.

They all have a Type 8 and a Type 14 slot, except the Breastplate, which also has a Type 15 slot.

These items do have some slight variations from one version to another, usually in the resists and stat over caps.

FINAL ARMOR

1) FINAL ARMOR: To upgrade to the final top-end armor, you actually have to go back to the group content!

Specifically, you need to go back to for the very same Tier Five group armor drops (the Eternal essences) (see above, Tier 5 Group Armor)!

!!! NOTE !!!: If you saved your Tier 5 Group Armor as I suggested (above), you are ahead of the game all ready! All you have to do is “remove” the Eternal from aforementioned armor (using the appropriate Culling Vortex… see top of page)!

2) THE VOID: You need to buy the Temporal Molting Cell, sold in The Void.
