KROMRIF MILITARY LEGGINGS

The Kromrif Military Leggings are pretty easy and relatively quick to obtain, with the help of a decent group of players who are level 35-plus.

You will need the aid of a Druid and a Ranger. This quest is sometimes called the Crystal Caverns' Ancient Artifacts quest.

THE QUEST

1) Begin your quest in the Crystal Caverns.

Once inside the Caverns, kill all the Orcs (Levels 25 to 40) you see, until such time as you find a no drop item called a Bottle of Karsin of Acid. You do not have to go in very far to find one.

NOTE: You can also do this quest with an item called the Sceptre of the Coldain Ancients, which drops off Queen Drachnia (Level 40), who is way down in the bowels of the Caverns. I have purposely ignored that one as it is much harder to get to and find the MOB. The acid is easy. However, the Queen does drop other items like the Messenger of the Queen, if you want to spend the time, effort and risk in getting to her and killing her.

.

2) Once you have it, have a Druid port the group out to the Great Divide and run up to Thurgadin.

Once there, go in and head to the bar that is to the far left -- off the circle.

In the bar you will find an NPC named Erdarf Restil (Level 35).

You probably need to have at least amiable faction with Erdarf Restil.

Con him first. If you are not amiable to him, you will need to work on Coldain faction to go any further.

If you are amiable or better, give him the Bottle of Karsin of Acid and he will give you a Gem of Persuasion.

.

3) Now here comes a time consuming part.

You need to kill a Drakkel Blood Wolf (Level 31 to 40) found in the Great Divide.

These do not spawn very often. Some say killing the regular Dire Wolves will help the spawn happen faster. You will need the tracking skills of a Ranger or Druid to find it. Once you find one, kill it and loot the no drop Blood Wolf Harness (AC 5; Mana 20; Weight: 3.0; Beastlord, Shaman, Druid, Cleric).

.

4) Still in the Great Divide, head south to the Wyrm caves (follow the river from Thurgadin).

Have a Druid cast up invisible and run straight (south) through the caves until you come out.

Then have the Druid or Ranger track an NPC named Vores the Hunter, who is in a tent.

Give him the Blood Wolf Harness and the Gem of Persuasion.

He will give you a Harness of Control.

.

5) Now for the tricky part -- and still in the Great Divide.

Have someone, perhaps the Ranger, check to make sure that three certain NPC's are up.

They are the Shardwurm Broodmother  (Level 50) (in the caves), Gralk Dwarfkiller (Level 40) (in center of the Giant Fort) and Fergul Frostsky (Level 40 to 45) (right there with Gralk).

The Giant Fort is just up the hill from the spires.

If they are up -- you can conclude the quest.

If not -- you will have to wait until they are.

I suggest you shout out to the zone to please leave these three NPC's alone once they are all up at the same time -- so someone does not kill them before you initiate the final sequence.

Shouting something like, "Quest sequence about to initiate -- please do not bother the named Giant Gralk and Fergul or the Wyrm Broodmother, please!"

.

6) If they are all up -- everyone can go to the Giant Fort and standby on the east side.

You, however, need a Druid or ranger to accompany you into the Wyrm caves to find the Broodmother. Be sure you are invisible.

The Druid/Ranger can track to the Broodmother (basically enter the cave from the north side and keep left).

Once you get to the Broodmother, run through the center of the room to avoid possible aggro and then go behind the Broodmother.

Once done click off your invisible and hand her the Harness of Control.

This activates the final sequence.

Once done, don't follow the Broodmother as she will do as MOB's are apt to do and walk through walls, which you can't do. Just get Invisible back up and run back out to the Giant Fort.

You will beat her there (she is slow), especially if you have SOW up.

.

7) At the Giant Fort simply standby. Gralk Dwarfkiller and Fergul Frostsky will walk out of the Giant Fort to the West side of the entrance and then stop.

In short order, the Broodmother will circle up and attack Gralk.

Fergul will then run west and then run back east towards where you are.

It is Fergul you are concerned with. Kill him!

Once he is dead you can loot the Kromrif Military Leggings off his corpse!
