LOST DUNGEONS OF NORRATH

Achievements & Everything Else!

No time for a luncheon, head into the dungeon! -- Bonzz

This Achievement section is for the achievements related to the Lost Dungeons of Norrath expansion.

Lost Dungeons of Norrath (LDoN) was the 6th expansion, released September 9, 2003.

This expansion sold for $29.99 for the retail boxed edition, which included a small round-fobbed keychain and a claim item, the Reinforced Satchel of Abu-Kar, which could be upgraded via an in-game quest. It was $27.99 for the digital download version.

Lost Dungeons of Norrath added:

This expansion did not add any static zones to the game. In fact, every zone of this expansion was instanced and adjusted to the average Level of the group. They also had 'hard' or 'normal' options.

The LDoN adventures were in five (5) different 'themes' and Player stats (wins, losses) were, and still are, tracked by an in-game window (Alt V -> View Stats)... the first, and only in-game ranking system.

COIN

The first form of alternative currency was introduced with the Lost Dungeons of Norrath (LDoN). It is called Adventure Points, but it does not appear in your Alternative Currency Tab. You can, however, see how many Adventure Points you have by using the keyboard command Alt V and then clicking the 'View Stats' button in the 'Adventure Window' that pops up. In the resulting 'Adventure Stats' window that pops up, you can see how many Adventure Points you have earned in each LDoN Theme, as well as a grand total in the bottom of that same window.

Adventure Points can be spent with the specialty Vendors at the LDoN (Wayfarer) Camps the Butcherblock Mountains 'Mistmoore' camp (Biski Teezlen & Jelqtan Orentnai); the Everfrost Peaks 'Miragul' camp (Gizula & Kipler Steffeal); the South Ro 'Deepest Guk' camp (Haele Straedhon & Taeri Kuqq); the North Ro 'Takish' camp (Daevyd Londayl & Dereu Ztr'Tn); and the Commonlands 'Rujarkian' camp (Kehn Kohski & Uyennli V'Drimw). These specialty vendors are also progressive vendors, meaning more items are revealed / offered as you win LDoN Adventures and earn Adventure Points.

.

PROGRESSIVE & SPECIAL ITEMS

The first progressive item was also introduced with this expansion, the Adventurer's Stone. This item, a Charm Aug, was progressed by way of completing a certain number of Adventures in each LDoN Theme, followed by hailing certain NPC's after so many wins in each theme. Once progression is completed, the Adventurer's Stone be converted into the Wayfarer's Brotherhood Emblem. Details are found here: Adventurer's Stone.

Reinforced Satchel of Abu-Kar, which could be upgraded via an in-game quest.

.

EXPANSION (VISIBLE) ARMOR SETS

Armor sets, with this expansion, were a bit more more streamlined than in the past. Sets were either crafted with drops from each LDoN Theme, dropped in the LDoN zones and / or were purchased with Adventure Points from the Specialty Vendors of each LDoN camp.

Known full (visible) armor sets. Did I miss any? Let me know!

USEFUL SECRETS ABOUT THE LOST DUNGEONS

Secret #1

Many of the Hunter Achievements list the exact same named (rare) MOB's. Luckily, if you kill the named in any LDoN zone, it counts / updates for all of the LDoN Hunter sets that the target is listed in. Thus, you only have to kill them once.

Secret #2

With Explore & Hunter Achievements, it can be very frustrating... getting the same zone(s) over and over. Zones that you do not need to go to!

There is a way to better get the zones you want!

It is all based on theme, kill count and zone entrance. Here is how:

* Always do mass kills (Normal version).

* Request an adventure and before you accept it, read the narrative (in the box / adventure window) about how many kills it calls for and which zone entrance it describes.

* Using the kill count, zone entrance & the list below, you can generally determine what zone you are most likely to get! This way, if it's a zone you don't need to go to, you just not accept the adventure and after a short delay (about 60-seconds), try again. Do this until you get a zone you need!

* CAVEAT: As indicated below, sometimes the kill count / entrance combination can be more than one zone.

LORE

Lore is from / based on Daybreak, Expansion release information and / or Dev / Beta Forum Info.

The Wayfarers

The Wayfarers Brotherhood is a group of adventurers lead by a rogue known as Morden Rasp. These adventurers are responsible for discovering the five dungeons that you'll soon be exploring, as well as augmentations, which have revolutionized the use of adventurer’s gear.

The dungeons that they have discovered are located in Everfrost Peaks, East Commonlands, Northern Desert of Ro, Southern Desert of Ro, and Butcherblock Mountains, and adventurers can visit the Wayfarer's camps to take on missions and tasks of variety and variable difficulty.

If you manage to complete your assigned missions, you will earn Adventure Points which can be used to purchase items from the Wayfarer’s treasure hoard, including weapons, armor, or even the newfound augments.

Exploring the Dungeons

With the Lost Dungeons of Norrath, there are five different dungeons that have been discovered and are now open for you to adventure through. Each dungeon has somewhere from 8 to 10 adventures that you can go on, for a grand total of 48 new zones that you can explore. Each of these zones have their own dangers and challenges to face, but of course, proving your worth as an adventurer will come with handsome rewards.

Deepest Guk

Though the cave systems of Lower Guk have long been sought out by adventurers from all reaches of Norrath, for ages none even considered the possibility that the expanse of Guk could extend even deeper beyond the dungeon's lower regions. That is no one considered it until Deepest Guk was discovered by the Wayfarers.

The undead inhabitants of Deepest Guk have been left undisturbed for an incredibly long amount of time, and aren't particularly happy about having to deal with the sudden intruders. Surviving your trip to the dungeon is guaranteed to be difficult.

If you think you have the grits and guts to explore the caverns of Deepest Guk, head to the Southern Desert of Ro and find Selephra Giztral.

Miragul’s Menagerie

If you believe that you’re ready to face the cold, take the snowy trek to Everfrost to find Teria Grinntli. Teria is looking for adventurers to explore the icy underground tundra known as Miragul’s Menagerie.

The stories say that far below Everfrost, the infamous first Heretic Miragul once gathered artifacts and practiced an evil magic. He remained here, hidden and in solitude, until a venturing group of Paladins accidentally stumbled upon his hiding place.

It wasn’t long after this that the Wayfarers came and fully exposed Miragul’s Menagerie, which turned out to be the home home of many magical, powerful, and of course, dangerous creatures. Now, the Wayfarers Brotherhood seeks adventurers to explore these icy caverns.

Mistmoore Catacombs

If you’ve been to Faydwer, you likely know that nearly inhabitants of the area avoid Mayong Mistmoore’s castle (and his minions, especially) at all costs. Unfortunately, Castle Mistmoore should be the least of their worries.

Far below Faydwer lies a network of tunnels and caverns that are said to extend to the very reaches of the continent – this tunnel system is known as the Mistmoore Catacombs, and a trip here is certainly not for the faint of heart.

If you think that you’ve got the nerve (and the keen directional sense) needed to explore the sprawling twists and turns of the Mistmoore Catacombs, visit the Wayfarer Vual Stoutest in Butcherblock Mountains.

Rujarkian Hills

A common story often overheard in the taverns of Freeport is that of the Rujark orc clan, which is said to have mysteriously disappeared from Norrath almost without a trace. The Rujark clan was supposedly home to direct descendants of the first orcs created by Rallos Zek himself.

But not everyone believes that the Rujark clan is gone for good. Tales also have been told of the orcs capturing and enslaving citizens of Freeport that wander too far into the Desert of Ro... and it turns out that there may be more than a little bit of truth to these stories.

It turns out that the difficult to find Rujarkian Hills are home to these vicious orcs, and if you think the fight could be worth the rewards, you’ll want to pay a visit to Barstre Songweaver in the East Commonlands tunnel

Ruins of Takish-Hiz

Hundreds of years ago, a forest, home to the elves and teeming with life, existed in what is now the Desert of Ro. Solusek Ro burned this forest to the ground, removing any traces of this once-lush land and eventually turning space to desert.

Traces of this lost civilization can be found among the sands, but the Wayfarers were the first to discover a discernable path to Takish-Hiz. Takish-Hiz appears to be the former capital of the elven city, though only so much about it - including the past and present - has been uncovered thus far.

What lies beneath the desert sands remains unknown, but if you’d like to be among the first to find out, pay a visit to Ruanya Windleaf in the Northern Desert of Ro.

Plane of Mischief (October 9, 2003)

The revamped Plane of Mischief is now available on all Live servers.

3-D Target Ring (November 5, 2003)

We have also added a 3D target indicator. The ring color indicates the con color of the target._ This can be turned off in the Options window. A new settings file in the UI folder can be edited by players to customize the appearance of the indicator, including different animated textures for each con color and other interesting settings.

Gambling in Shadowhaven (December 18, 2003)

** Play King's Court in Shadowhaven! ** Shandeling's Roost in Shadowhaven now houses a game of chance. To play you will need to buy a King's Court Token. You then take this token and turn it in to any of the dealers. Based on what your hand turns out to be, you will be awarded a prize. The highest hands will return a gold ticket as the prize. This Ticket can be turned in to win prizes such as a Guise of the Deceiver, Fungus Covered Great Staff, or Holgresh Elder Beads. Good luck to all that play!

RAIDS

The generic strats / info below are from successful raids that I was part of, from research and / or from what I recall. The below info should be adapted, as seen fit, by your Raid Leader. Key emotes may also be noted below. Raid make-up (classes, levels, Player skill levels, etc.) can and do make a difference on raid strategy options and winning or losing. In any situation, Players fulfilling their roles, using assist, and following emotes is always essential. There is always more than one variant strategy that can successfully defeat a raid. As Levels increase, defeating old raids can prove much easier and more forgiving (even as a group or solo / molo, depending on how old the raid event is). However, sometimes, certain mechanics still have to be honored. It has been known that in some events, due raid mechanics, too much DPS; killing MoB X before MOB Y; and similar, can bug the raid and cause it to fail. The below info does not include details on how to complete raid-related achievements. Those are noted elsewhere on this page, if any. Some of these targets may require 'zerging' into the zone get to them (killing stuff along the way). They may also have 'adds' which are often more like trash MoB's that in the general area. The original / older targets / encounters were pre-raid window events. Raids were more of a collective effort, or better, an extremely challenging group event. Any effects noted below  often 'scale to level,' so the effects can be lesser or greater than stated, depending on raid force levels. On Progression servers, targets can use 'Mitigation of the Mighty' (mitigates Spell Damage, Melee Damage and absorbs DoT damage), at least until such time as certain later expansions (typically, expansions that are at least seven-plus expansions after the expansion of the related target). While older targets are static open world (non-instance) events, there are now an Agent of Change in various locations that will provide instanced version of the same event (which are noted below, if any).

The below raids can have more than one event and more than one 'chest' can spawn during the event and / or at the end of the event (with loot inside). All theses raids require 6 Players minimum and 54 maximum.

If I missed anything or got something wrong, let me know!

TARGET ZONE INFO & STRATS

Folly of Miragul's Ambition

Trelsa McKindle

(Event NPC, Everfrost Peaks)

Miragul's Menagerie: Folly of Miragul's Ambition

(Instanced)

This raid event, for 6 to 54 Players, has a 3-Hour time limit, and you need to stay on the move (if you don't, an Extraplanar Fiend can spawn). Along the way, you will meet Glim, who you are to follow (he runs off). He will stop at a hallway, but don't go in that hallway as the trash in the hallway can't be killed and will continuously go back (respawn) to 100%. Someone (with aggro loss ability) needs to go through the hall to find a jeweled sentinel, kill him (easy kill) and loot at least two (2) of the Phasing Ruby he drops. Give them to Glim to despawn the hallway MoB's. Next, go south where you will encounter The Synarcana (has a 2.5K PB AOE). Send part of the raid north side and part of the raid south side. The North group(s) will find a 'skeleton' MoB's that they must keep dead. They spawn six (6) at a time in waves as long as the event is active. The South group(s) will take on The Synarcana, who will not take damage while any of the Skeleton's are alive. However, it will reportedly take damage from Damage Shields. 'Named' adds will also spawn. Kill them to do 20% damage to The Synarcana. Once The Synarcana is dead, the raid is won.

Frozen Nightmare

Qileour Bahiael

(Event NPC, Everfrost Peaks)

Miragul's Menagerie: Frozen Nightmare

(Instanced)

This raid event is for 6 to 54 Players. Most of the MOB's can see thru Invisible and some can even see through Rogue Hide / Sneak. Head into the first hall to trigger the first event. You need to kill Raid Leader Sig Choi & Taskmaster Suitalp. There will also be a number of 'goblin' adds, but they will despawn once the two (2) main targets are defeated. Now head on in to Durgin Skell. Hail and follow along with Durgin Skell, to 'unlock' the events in this raid. In the next area, kill off the 'blobs' in the area and a sundering sludge, that will split into four (4) a severing sludge... each of which will split into four (4) a slippery sludge. Once they are all dead, the next event is to defeat four (4) a chromatic bonewalker. All four a chromatic bonewalker have to be killed within ten (10) seconds of each other, so balance their health and kill them in quick succession. The third event is to defeat Marrow of the Broken, who has an AoE and can spawn single adds (EMOTE: 'Fragments of body parts splinter from the golem and shower the floor. Within moments, these pieces of ossified bone reassemble with scattered debris to form something else.'). The next event is to protect Sharalla's Corpse from any and all MoB's that show up trying to 'desecrate' it. Talk to Sharalla's Warder to start the event. Win or fail, the final part is to speak with X again, to spawn Laskuth the Colossus, who spawns to the north (levitation will be a help here). Go kill Laskuth the Colossus, who can banish Players (not too far away), can reflect spells and has an AoE. The event is won upon the death of Laskuth the Colossus and three (3) 'chests' should spawn, with loot inside.
Hidden Vale of Deceit

Chaenz Abella

(Event NPC, Commonlands)

Rujarkian Hills: The Hidden Vale

(Instanced)

Talk to Crispen Koloff once you zone in, for some lore. This raid is to defeat a number of targets... basically it's a clear-the-zone type event. The first targets are four (4) Violent Research Subject, who are individually located in the upper northeast room (ignore the non-aggro Steelslave Research Assistant, for now), middle far east room, south far east room and south lower west room. Next, head to the far north east room to kill three (3) Steelslave Researcher. Next, head to the far mid-west room to kill a number of Flawless Experimental Brute, Steelslave Research Assistant and then Flawless Experimental Battlelord (who must die last). Once done, the raid is won and loot will be in The Splintering Barrel, The Bloody Barrel and the Researcher's Box of Supplies.
Prison Break

Luarnn Gibbizt

(Event NPC, Commonlands)

Rujarkian Hills: Prison Break

(Instanced)

From the start, be aware that the 'goblin' MoB's prefer to fight as a trio, so if all three (3) aren't killed in short order of each other, they can run off to find more help (they can be rooted / snared). You have three targets to defeat: Taskmaster Devrak (east side dead end); Taskmaster Dokorel (west side dead end); and Taskmaster Velrek (north side dead end). Two (2) 'chest' will spawn when each of the Taskmasters is defeated (Talkor`s Bloody Chest, Taskmaster`s Stone Chest or Yenner`s Decorative Chest), with loot inside. One of those chests (an orcish chest) will include a Heavy Orcish Prison Key. These chests need to be disarmed to better insure the Heavy Orcish Prison Key is not lost. Once you have all three (3) Heavy Orcish Prison Key, head south and give one (1) Heavy Orcish Prison Key to the Eneau Welani, Piyea Frost & Maziyae Xanl`Utin. Once done, Prisoner Guard Talkor will spawn west of the prison area. Go kill him. Now head to the five (5) southwest rooms and free the prisoners Jealac YzinaqlBacluu IggnGaddian OpaleyeLeannra Nuadr & (???). Once done, High Shaman Yenner and Warden Neyremal will spawn on a  platform in the center of a room in the southwest. Kill them to win the event.

Head north to find a few Prophet of Gukta (more allies) that have cornered The Cursed Spore, you next kill target. Now head south where you will gain another ally (Knight of Gukta) and your next kill target, Gragna the Cursed. This will spawn your final kill target further in, The Cursed Keeper. (Instanced)

You are basically here to clear the zone and along the way, kill four specific targets. They are Elite Scion Guardian, Grortrakien the Mutilator, Halusant the Nightblood and Sfisithik the Light Devourer. With the final two bosses... Halusant the Nightblood (southeast room) and Sfisithik the Light Devourer (south room... Hissing Shadow Lurker adds can spawn), split the raid to kill them at the same time. This is not required, as you can kill them one at a time, but it does prevent the one you did not attack from healing to 100%. Once they all dead the raid is won.
Spider Den

Mathii Faurls

The rest of the raid needs to follow and protect Scout Mainil as he heads off into the dungeon. Once Scout Mainil leads you to the 'prison area,' Executioner Gimdk will spawn a 'risen acolyte' MoB... kill it ASAP so it does not get 'absorbed' Leave part of the raid here (so now the raid is in three parts) to kill every 'risen acolyte' as they spawn. The third part of the raid needs to head over (northeast room) to 'save' The First Witness. To do this kill all the Energy Focus, Matter Focus & Spirit Focus at the big cauldron. (Event NPC, North Ro)

Takish Hiz: The Palace Grounds

(Instanced)

As you zone in, you will see a wayward defender, a delinquent defender and an aberrant defender. Each of these NPC's will head off in different directions shortly after you zone in. They can not be killed, but they will stop moving when aggro is near. So, you can opt to divided the raid into three (3) parts and follow each one, or clear the way to the northwest, north east and southwest one at a time. There are traps along the way, that can spawn fifteen (15) (ravenous insect) adds at the same time. When each NPC's reach their destinations, there will be a 'final battle' at each spot. There will be four (4) waves of five (5) an enraged jeweled guard to kill at each location. Once they are all dead, a 'boss' will spawn at each location that are all leashed to their room: Master of the Guard (northwest); Tactician of the Guard (southwest); and Champion of the Guard (northeast). When all three (3) are dead, the event is won.
The Lost Party

Alinai Kaneriti

(Event NPC, Butcherblock Mountains)

(Instanced)

This is a 2-group adventure / raid. Your goal is to 'rescue' a 'lost party' that included Ailill Nye, Bartik Hertigson, Harris Feril, Hilus Greensward, Keelia Fern & Sila Warren. This dungeon is essentially a one-way path. Clear your way in and along the way, you will encounter four mini-bosses (Shambling Archer, Blighted Spiritist, Scion of BloodScion of Darkness) and loot four (4) items from them (Ailill's Phail, Bartik's Heart, Keelia's Heart & Hilus' Journal... these all need to be looted by the same Player). Now head to the far northwest round room. Go in the middle and /say Sila Warren with no target. This will trigger a Forceful Presence (that can shadow step) and adds (a summoned soul) to spawn and attack. Kill them and loot Sila's Medallion. Sila Warren will appear (if she doesn't, /say I seek Sila with no target in the middle of the room). Hail her and follow along and she will then follow you. Clear your way to Harris Feril and Mayong Mistmoore. Harris Feril will flee and Mayong Mistmoore turns out to be a fake and changes into Lord Enghearst. Kill Lord Enghearst. Now, the Player with the four (4) looted items, needs to talk to Sila Warren and to get a Warded Bag. Combine the four (4) looted items in the Warded Bag to make a Sealed Warded Bag. The Player with the Sealed Warded Bag should lead the way to final room to find and defeat Harris Feril to win the event.

NOTE: This raid event was recycled and beefed up as a 2-Group 19th Anniversary Raid Event.
