EVERQUEST 13TH ANNIVERSARY EVENTS

Where to find them and how to do them!

The debate is obfuscated... just like muck! Is '13' good luck... or is it bad luck? - Bonzz

ANNIVERSARY LORE

There were no Anniversary Events before the 5th Year of EverQuest.

However, upon the 5th Anniversary of EverQuest, a temporary, special Anniversary event was added to the game.

After that, it became an annual tradition in EverQuest, with new Anniversary related events being added each year, as well as the old ones being reactivated right along beside them.

Anniversary Events generally start around March 16th (EverQuest was launched March 16, 1999), and continue to as late as mid-May.

There are now so many Anniversary Events that they are implemented / divided in two parts... "Modern" events (14th Anniversary and forward) and "Legacy" events (5th to 13th Anniversary).

The "Legacy" events do not award Commemorative Coins, but do include Fabled MOB's (introduced in 2008). These events do not start until near mid-April.

The "Modern" events start right away and generally award Commemorative Coin, which is a specialty coin that can used to buy special items with "a jubilant merchant" in the Plane of Knowledge (near the Nexus stone, and the stuff ain't cheap!).

The Mechanical Fortune Teller (near the Crescent Reach stone) was added to the Plane of Knowledge, to help direct you to the events (by year), because now, there are a lot of them. Just hail her and follow along.

Download and unzip this file to the 'storyline' folder of your EverQuest directory to have access to a generic, simplified version of these quests, in game, via your Story Window (Alt N)! NOTE: This file can be updated in the event of typo corrections, errors and new events, so you may need a fresh download / install every so often.

13TH ANNIVERSARY

The 13th Anniversary added the most events than any anniversary before, or since... thirteen (13) of them! To include Solo, Group and Raid events!

Even better, they are all from the same NPC (Sam Napth) in the Plane of Knowledge!

The Mechanical Fortune Teller was added this year as well (see above).

Also, while not exactly an Anniversary event, Hero's Journey Achievements & Free To Play were also introduced. Additionally, new Map functions were added, such as the Find Path feature.

This is also a Monster Mission, so you will need to choose a 'Monster' you will play as, once inside the instance (Mayong Mistmoore, Maestro of Rancor, Lanys T'vyl, Warlord Ykesha, Venril Sathir or Valdoon Kel'Novar).

As a note, Monster Missions are much harder if you go in solo, even though you can do this one solo (I recommend using Mayong Mistmoore). Also, no Mercenaries (after you are changed into a 'Monster' inside the zone, you have no coin to pay your Mercenary).

In sequence (by floor), you will need to kill, loot and then use that key (on the Mirror that will take you to the next floor), in the following order (by floor):

Once you have made it to the final floor, you need to find and kill Tserrina, and then loot a shard of fear.

.

Hail him to finish up.

Based on your level, you will get nine (9) Experience or Shaman-type potion options (level 84 and below), or Experience and seven (7) Level 85-required gear options (Level 85 and up).

If you are really lucky, you will get a task update.

Otherwise, players need to pay attention to the resulting emotes.

Sam Napth will emote that someone has spilled their blood in one of the correct locations, and name the location. The Player who is there, should stay there.

Other Players should move to a new location, and then all coordinate and click again. Repeat until all three correct locations are found, and you should see emotes from Althea, Brenda and Christine (the sisters from Dreadspire). If so, everyone will get summoned to the bridge outside the castle, where you will see Mayong Mistmoore.

Just stand by, watch what happens and soon you will be teleported out of the zone.

.

5) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: Head back Sam Napth and hail him to finish up, if needed.

Your reward includes Twitchy Bat Wing (a 50-use Bat Illusion).

THE TOWER OF FROZEN SHADOW (Raid of 6 to 54)

1) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: You are here looking for Sam Napth, at the bridge closest to the Plane of Tranquility stone (he should be in Find).

Hail him, follow along if needed, and a window should pop up allowing you to chose a Quest.

In this case, select 'Tower of Frozen Shadow,' which is a Raid Event that requires at least six (6) Players to get (maximum 54).

Say 'Ready,' to Sam Napth, to get teleported.

.

2) ICECLAD OCEAN:  Once here, click on the door / portal to the Tower of Frozen Shadow to zone into the instance.

.

3) TOWER OF FROZEN SHADOW: 13TH ANNIVERSARY RAID: Once in the zone, you will be on the first / main floor.

Talk to and follow along with Tserrina Syl'Tor to get things started.

Next, be ready to basically kill all the MOB's on this floor! You must protect Warlord Ykesha (keep him healed and alive) to succeed.

Once all the adds are dead and you heal Warlord Ykesha to 100%, the way (mirror click) to the next floor is unlocked.

.

4) TOWER OF FROZEN SHADOW: 13TH ANNIVERSARY RAID: The second floor is the library.

On the far side of the room, are your targets, but you need to clear the trash MoB's first. As you clear trash MOB's, a Fitting Wedding Garb can drop from the MOB's. Every Player, if possible, needs to loot one and put it on (it negates zone-wide the snare / stat loss), but you may want to be selective about who get's it for (i.e. Tanks, then Healers, then Casters...). As they drop, dole them out. They will continue to drop as you go along. The Fitting Wedding Garb will disappear if you die and you will need to get another one, or suffer through-out without one.

Once all the trash are dead, and as many Players have acquired and equipped a Fitting Wedding Garb as possible, your goal is to kill Maestro of Rancor and Zi-Thuuli of the Granite Claw. Keep them apart (say, a good distance apart on either side of the door way that leads to the mirror / portal to the next floor). Hail and follow along with The Performer, to get things started.

During the event, expect the following:

Once both Zi-Thuuli of the Granite ClawMaestro of Rancor are dead, The Maestro's Repository (a chest) will spawn with two (2) different augments (details at end of this section) for the raid to roll on, and the way to the next floor will be unlocked.

.

5) TOWER OF FROZEN SHADOW: 13TH ANNIVERSARY RAID: The third floor is the Dining Event.

Using Find, your goal is to locate all twelve (12) of the 'wedding gifts.'

In getting to each NPC, you will likely have to kill MOB's that aggro, so expect that. To get the items, simply hail and follow along with each NPC, once you find them (they are all on Find).

The items you are after can be acquired by any Player in the raid:

Each of these temporary items has a click effect, but you will not necessarily need to use them at (noted below). You just have to collect them up.

Once all the items are acquired, events will transpire (dining room, near the mirror / portal to the next level).

Lanys T'Vyl will spawn. Attack Lanys T'Vyl and fight her down to 20% (she can / will mem wipe), where upon she will stop fighting and disappear. When that happens, the way to the next floor is unlocked. Quickly use the mirror / portal to the next floor, or else you will get teleported to the northeast room (third floor).

The Visage of the Banshee (just acquired) can be used on Lanys T'Vyl to make her 'fight less effectively,' but it is not a requirement.

.

6) TOWER OF FROZEN SHADOW: 13TH ANNIVERSARY RAID: The fifth floor (where you end up) is the Wedding floor.

Your goal here is to defeat (kill) the entire wedding party!

Some of the items, acquired on the previous floor, can be used on MOB's here (Broken Bottle & Jumjum Pie, on Danab and maybe others; Bloodstained Grey Gloves of the Murderer on Valdoon Kel'Novar) to cause them to 'fight less effectively,' but they are not required use.

Valdoon Kel'Novar is part of the battle (the 'boss') and will cast Greater Spreading Stone (a death touch if not cured); Greater Soul Consumption (4.6K DoT); and Deadlier Lifetap (30K).

Once all the guest and are defeated, Tserrina's Keepsake (a chest) will appear, with one (1) of the same augments that dropped before (details at end of this section) for the raid to roll on, and the way to the next floor will be unlocked.

.

7) TOWER OF FROZEN SHADOW: 13TH ANNIVERSARY RAID: The sixth floor is, surprisingly, populated by non-aggro MOB's.

The Cracked Troll Spine (acquired on the third floor) can be used on the a brittle skeleton to 'weaken' them, but it is not a requirement.

Your goal here is to kill Venril Sathir and his Tserrina's Dracoliche.

Venril Sathir also uses Deadlier Lifetap (30K) and Tserrina's Dracoliche has directional emotes (turn it, or move to a different side of it) and also uses Fearsome Roar (a directional Fear, have a Paladin tank it).

Once they are dead, the path (mirror / portal) to the next floor unlocks.

.

8) TOWER OF FROZEN SHADOW: 13TH ANNIVERSARY RAID: Welcome to the seventh and final floor!

In the final room, you will find Tserrina Syl'Tor & Mayong Mistmoore. Talk to Tserrina Syl'Tor begin the final event, and Mayong Mistmoore will disappear and Tserrina Syl'Tor will attack!

Here is a basic walk-through:

Upon victory, Sam Napth will appear, a scene will transpire, and Sam Napth will then disappear.

Loot is on the corpse of Mayong Mistmoore the Empowered, for the raid to roll on, to include the coveted Erilynne Ornamentation.

You will also get a pop-up reward window that will offer you a number of awards, to include the Dislodged Diamond of Blood and the Unharnessed Soul Gem augmentations, the same augments that dropped earlier in the raid.
