BONZZ'S USEFUL AND BENEFICIAL ITEMS PAGE

I am sometimes asked what items would be useful to have and/or seek out, for a Paladin.

This page is to reveal such items.

However, this is not generally about the best armor/weapons and such -- but otherwise beneficial items that can and do prove to be useful to a Paladin, for various reasons.

These are items you may either want to carry on you toon at all times, or at least keep in your bank for when you need them.

Many of these items may be attainable or usable only at higher levels. If you know of any "lesser" items I can add to the list, let me know.

If you are looking for armor/gear/weapon type items, click here.

A VIAL OF SWIRLING MIST: These are merchant sold gate potions. The big advantage to these is that they are instant casts. The set back is that they are expensive and do not stack!

CAVEFISH GOGGLES: These are reasonably easy to attain. They are good to have for the wearable effect of Faerune. Faerune allows you to see in the dark, see invisible and breath underwater! They are a task reward for the task called "Preemptive Strike" -- or "70.1" by players.

CLOTH CAP -- AUG

.

CLOUDY POTION: These stack to 20 and you should keep at least 20 of them on you. They are an instant cast non-targeted self-invisible. I strongly recommend this over even the Half or Full Capacity Gnomish Vanishing Device, for a few reasons. They are relatively cheap and sold in PoK and Undershore, among other places. Even better, you can use it while running! Lastly, they are cheaper to buy, normally, that it costs to recharge the Vanishing Device. After all the Vanishing Device, in order to keep it charged, requires you also carry a Gnomish Recharging Kit and then recharging item (which may cost you more than it would to buy the Potions to start with). The Cloudy Potions only take one slot and since they stack to 20 -- you get a full 10 more Invisible casts than even with the Full Capacity Gnomish Vanishing Device (10 charges).

.

.

FAMILIAR OF HULCROR: This clicky items summons up a tiny Lightning Warrior, as a familiar. It is nice to have, as it grants you Ultravision and a plus-50 to Magic Resists. This item is obtained by chance, from Legends of Norrath card Booster Packs. If you are lucky enough to get this card (or trade for it via the card game), you must "redeem it" inside the LoN game. Once redeemed, you pull up the "Claim" window in the regular EQ game to "claim" it. You must have a bag slot open to claim it (it will appear there). On a side note, you cannot have more than one familiar up at a time. Further, they have ti be recast each time you zone.

.

FAMILIAR OF LIGHTNING CALLER VHALEK: This clicky items summons up a tiny Hulcror, as a familiar. It is nice to have, as it grants you ten (10) Hit Points Regeneration per tick. .

FAMILIAR OF THE GIRPLAN GUARDIAN: This clicky items summons up a tiny Hulcror, as a familiar. It is nice to have, as it grants you the ability to breath underwater as well as plus-30 to both Poison and Disease resists. This item is obtained by chance, from Legends of Norrath card Booster Packs. If you are lucky enough to get this card (or trade for it via the card game), you must "redeem it" inside the LoN game. ..

GEERLOK SKILL MODIFIERS: There is a Geerlok device, that is player crafted (Tinkering) for every skill in the game. These devices can be equipped in your primary slot to modify the given skill by 5%. Very useful to have to insure more successful combines and less losses. They are normally cheaply sold in Bazaar (they are player made by Gnomes).

.

PHILTER OF MAJOR TRANSLOCATION: These are player crafted (Alchemy, by Shamans). These potions allow you to gate to your bind location. There are other similar potions, but I like this one best.

.

POTION OF GULON'S IMPUNITY: These potions are Shaman crafted (Alchemy) and sell pretty cheap in Bazaar (under 10 Platinum). They stack to 20 and provide you with the ability to Levitate yourself! I recommend these even over the Geerlok Flotation Pack. After all the Pack, in order to keep it charged, requires you also carry a Gnomish Recharging Kit and the recharging item (which may cost you more than it would to buy the Potions to start with). The Potions only take one slot and since they stack to 20 -- you get just as many uses.

.

SINISTER RING OF CHROMATIC REFLECTION: (Magic, Lore, No Trade; 29 AC, 435 HP, 435 MANA, 435 END, Weight 0.2, Required Level 80; 18 STR, 22 DEX, 16 STA, 27+3 CHA, 22+2 WIS, 22+2 INT, 16 AGI; 19 FIRE, 19 DIS, 19 COLD, 19 MAGIC, 19 POISON; Spell Shield 3, Stun Resist 3, DoT Shielding 3, Regen 3, Mana Regen 3, Clairvoyance 2, Spell Damage 2, Heal Amount 2; Focus: Reach of the Fang II (Increase beneficial spell range by 20%, up to Level 80)). This nice ring is available for about 81 Platinum! Get your faction with "Bertoxxulous' Chosen" (Hills of Shade) up to Ally and Lanika Shadestepper will sell it to you! It is a progressive item (it has three levels).

.

SPEAR OF FIRE (SWARM PET): This is a decent two-handed piercing item (44 Damage, 34 Delay, 30 AC, 18 DEX, 18 STA, 20 WIS, 12 AGI, 20 COLD, 20 MAGIC, 150 HP, 10 MANA, 150 END). It has a process on it called, "Call of Faith." When it goes off, it summons up a single invisible swarm pet, for 10 seconds. It can drop in the Doomfire, the Burning Lands, off of the Captain of Fire, Charmer of Fire, Sorcerer of Fire or the Vicar of Fire.

.

STAT DRINKS: Stat drinks are highly useful in providing you with free stat increases (Hit Points, Resists, etc.). These are player crafted. You don't not have to -- or need to -- consume them in order to reap their benefit (purposely drink something else to prevent automatic consumption). You simply need to have them as the first drink item in your bags, on your character. The drink items I recommend, in order (based on your ability to acquire the items, your skill level to make the items or your finances to buy the items) are: Oriaas NostrumJuice of Quellious, Taelosian Black Mountain Ginseng Tea or Qeynos Afternoon Tea.

.

STAT FOOD: Stat foods are highly useful in providing you with free stat increases (Hit Points, Resists, etc.). These are player crafted. You don't not have to -- or need to -- consume them in order to reap their benefit (purposely eat something else to prevent automatic consumption). You simply need to have them as the first food item in your bags, on your character. The food items I recommend, in order (based on your ability to acquire the items, your skill level to make the items or your finances to buy the items) are: Bristlebane's Challenge, Bristlebane's Party Platter, Hero Sandwich, Halas 10 lb. Meat Pie or a Misty Thicket Picnic.

.

TRADESKILL TROPHIES: Tradeskill Trophies are quested and are well worth having. They can be equipped and modify the related Tradeskill up to 15% (depending on the level of the Trophy). They not only skill up as you do, but they help insure fewer failures and ingredient loses. There are two (2) types of tradeskill trophies. The original one (a 5% modifier) and the new one (can be progresses to 15%). The old one ("Grandmaster" trophies) is used in most of the Expert and Master level quests for the new trophies.

.

WORKERS SLEDGEMALLET: A quested, unlimited use gate to The Overthere. Simply duel another player, or use it in that tight situation when you are trained and need an out that won't be interrupted. If it procs, you are gated to The Overthere, no far from the Plane of Knowledge book portal.
