NON-ARMOR SKILL UP PATHS

The below charts are merely to provide you with a quick reference guide to trivials and raw material needed for the new "cultural" template recipes.

This page is just in case you are interested in using template skill up paths as an option (or in addition) to the paths I have listed here.

If you are all ready at a 300 skill, these combines can be a cheaper and easier way to skill-up (max-out) your tradeskill trophies, as well.

NOTE: I do not consider the Pottery Combines (Charms) a viable skill-up path, due to the need for the "rare" components. While the "unfired" charm recipe is simple and unchanged, making the patterns is a pain.

NOTE: I do not consider making Symbols a viable skill-up path, due to the need of the "rare" components.

MISC INFO

Any race can make any template.

There are thirteen (13) different types of Ores, Silks and Pelts that can be used to make four (4) categories of templates (plate, chain, silk or leather).

Of those four categories of templates, there are twelve (12) different types (each) of leather, chain or plate templates (each) and thirteen (13) different silk templates that you can make.

Of those templates, you can only make Cultural Armor for seven (7) of the armor types (slots) (Head, Chest, Feet, Hands, Wrists, Arms and Legs).

Of the above, only the templates made with the certain component types can be made made into Simple, Ornate, Intricate, Elaborate & Elegant Armor (noted in charts below).

This is further restricted by your race (example, Half Elves do not have a silk class, thus there is no Half Elf Silk Armor).

The set-back to these combine options is that lower end raw materials (dropped ingredients) may not often be for sale in Bazaar, due to the low profit margin and minimal demand. Thus you may have to farm them yourself. Further, you will not find these dropped ingredients on merchants, as merchants will not buy them! So "vendor" diving will be of no benefit.

However, unlike the old Cultural items, the templates will sell back to merchants (and they will also tribute). Thus, there is a measure of recouping costs.

In doing combines purely for the skill-up chances, I strongly recommend that you use the combines that require the least dropped ingredients (hand, face, neck or wrist items) and use animal pelts over silks (silks require at least two silks per combine).

The only dropped items you need for the below combines are the silks, pelts and ores.

The Spinneret Fluids, Marrows and Loams are not needed, unless you want to make actual Cultural Armor or Augmentations as well.

Only five (5) types of the Marrow come into play (Dusty, Damp, Hemic, Excellent & Exquisite) for Tailoring.

Only five (5) types of the  Loam come into play (Alkaline, Malleable, Bonded, Soluble & Porous) for Smithing.

Only five (5) types of the Spinnerets (Sullied, Crude, Fine, Superb and Exquisite) have any function as well... and are only of interest for the Tailored Augs, some Cultural Tailored Armor and the Charms .

SMITHED TEMPLATE CHART

These combines can be made in most any Forge.

Plate and Chain combines both have the same Trivial Levels (see chart below).

Plate Templates use Template "Molds" while Chain Templates use Chainmail "Patterns." Otherwise, the recipes are the same The chain tends to stack better.

All recipes require a Smithy Hammer and the related chain or plate template pattern or mold, as well.

The type of Coal needed is also noted below.

Templates that can be made into actual Cultural Armor are noted in red.

The following Template types require three (3) Ores: Legs, Back, Chest.

The following Template types require two (2) Ores: Arms, Feet, Head, Shoulders, Waist.

The following Template types require only one (1) Ore: Hands, Face, Neck, Wrist.

TAILORED TEMPLATE CHART

This combine can be made in most any Loom or Sewing Kit.

Silk and Leather combines both have the same Trivial Levels (see chart below).

Leather Templates use Leather Template Patterns while Silk Templates use Silk Template Patterns.

All recipes require a Simple Sewing Needle and either a Silk Curing Chemicals (for Silk) or Tanning Chemicals (for Leather), as well.

The type of Filament needed is also noted below.

Templates that can be made into actual Cultural Armor are noted in red.

If you are doing these as a skill-up path, note that silk combines require double the components (number of silk), as compared to leather combines (2 to 1).

The following Template types require three (3) Pelts or six (6) Silks: Legs, Back, Chest.

The following Template types require two (2) Pelts or four (4) Silks: Arms, Feet, Head, Shoulders, Waist.

The following Template types require one (1) Pelt or two (2) Silks: Hands, Face, Neck, Wrist.

RECOMMENDED ALTERNATIVE PATHS

These are my recommended Cultural combine alternatives to Smithing and Tailoring Skill-up paths, as outlined on this page.

For Smithing alternatives I recommend the following alternative paths, using chain as opposed to plate, as the chain tends to stack better:

For Tailoring alternatives I recommend the leather combines over the silk combines, as you will need double the silk for the same combines. I recommend the following alternative paths:
